Why relive Memories the past instead of creating more

Empty space in your chest

Has filled up your head

As empty as your phone, your home, and even your bed

The longest days even longer nights

With each passing moment making it harder to keep up the fight

Going through most of your life wishing to be okay

Speaking your metronome mantra that tomorrow's another day

Seeking perfection in obscure reflections

Starving for truth, meaning, love and affection

We were intended to live

Not just simply exist

Harboring so much pain

And only remembering Bliss

When did I stop living

And only simply exist

Let’s just simply exist.

Is it too much to ask?

Not everyone wants to be a hero,

Why are you asking so much of me?

I’m just content existing,

To work as a Starbucks barista;

Someplace, somewhere.

My dreams aren’t lofty

But I’ll have a smile that’s genuine

And a dozen cats by my side,

I’ll be happy and I’ll be me.
