I don’t know how I did it, but I managed to convince the kid to Konmari four boxes of his toys and the twelve items below are the result. While it was not a huge haul like mine have been, it did serve to reinforce that he has a lot of toys and that he doesn’t need to ask for a random toy when we are out and about.

We will sell some of the toys and pass others to our neighbor who has a 3 year old girl that loves playing with my kid’s stuff and who we’ve swapped toys with in the past. (I’m actually beginning to think most of our lego collection is actually hers that’s been left in lieu of payment for other toys taken).

When I started thinking about things to clear out of my house I didn’t think my keys would be an astonishing easy place to find clutter. 

It’s finally started snowing seriously here in the Mid-West and getting so cold my finger tips start throbbing minutes after locking my front door. It was on one of the most brutally cold days this week when my frozen fingers fumbled my keys into a snow bank. After cursing my existence and wondering why I’m not living somewhere nicer like California I dug my keys out of the snow and for the first time realized while shaking off the snow I had no idea why I had so many keys. 

Later that night after confirming with my partner that they weren’t to their parent’s house I decided to pull them off my key chain and recycle the metal. So as you start thinking about removing items from your home that don’t spark joy, or are just clutter start with your keys first. There’s more junk there than you think.

My son is 5 and exceptionally tall for his age. He’ll be looking me in the eye no time soon. He’s a great kid that likes to do art projects and science experiments which is one of the reasons my partner bought him this little desk set three years ago. At the time he was easily able to sit on the tiny chair and color, paint, make mud drawings, and play with his Legos. Now however, he is too tall and his knees push the top up which knocks over all his collections. So mainly out of need we are selling this desk to bring some much needed space to our living room and maybe some extra cash in our pockets.

The best christmas gift I received last year was a membership to The MoMa and I plan on using the hell out of it. Especially those Members Early Hours. Every week this month I've made the trek uptown and have #breakfastattheMoma. I plan on making this a weekly occurrence.
