Sounds easy? Maybe - but I found myself coming up with excuses after a few days.  Here are some of the various excuses I’d say to myself: “it’s raining today”, “I’m working from home”, “it’s too late”, “I haven’t eaten dinner yet”, “it’s the weekend and why should I take a trip into the city just to talk to a girl?”, and so on.

Whatever their cause, those excuses still were preventing me from achieving my goal.

The most recent way I solved this (this motivated me to do pickup for 30 days straight - although I think it could be applied to anything) was to promise a friend that for every day I didn't do pickup, I'd pay him $100. Of course, this was on the trust system - but I was doing this for me, not for him, so I vowed this to both him and myself.  

Every time I thought "I'll just skip today" I thought about paying $100 to my friend and it was unbearable.  "Ok", I'd think to myself, “I can do this”. Suddenly I had my one approach done for the day,
