Yo! Kong here. I know thereās a possibility you might have already seen this on our site, but chances are, you havenāt and I want to tell you about what pickup means to me. Let me explain... Thereās been A LOT of controversy about pickup and male-female dynamics lately, with some really big misconceptions that have gone viral: Someone on YouTube went around grabbing girlsā butts. A woman walked down the streets of New York City and got āharassedā. A āpick up artistā decided it was a good idea to teach guys that choking girls was a great way to start the conversation. As a channel thatās called āSimple Pickup,ā weāre automatically thrown into the fire anytime something like this happens. We didnāt respond to anything, because of the universal rule: āHaters gonna hate.ā But at this point⦠itās just gotten ridiculous. People are getting a really crazy and skewed idea of what pickup is supposed to be. But Iām not writing to you to respond to all of the negativity thatās been going on. Iām writing this so that you donāt lose your way on the journey to improving your life just because thereās a lot of bullshit out there. Before I tell you my thoughts on what āpickupā is, let me first talk about what pickup is not. Pickup is not harassing women in any way. Pickup is not forcing her into anything. Pickup is not being physically or emotionally abusive to women. Pickup is NOT what you think it is⦠Iām going to tell you a short little story about my past⦠I was always a loser. I was always picked last for group projects in class. I was bullied all the way up until I was 19 years old. Needless to say, I was never successful with girls. When I went to college, I gained 3 friends on Facebook, but zero friends in real life⦠Zero. The closest I got to making friends were people who copied my homework at lunchtime or before class. (One time, a girl pretended to like me for a whole semester, just so she could cheat off me. But thatās a story for another timeā¦) When my freshman year ended, I looked back at what I accomplished...and I realized: I had no social skills. I had no friends. Even worse, I had been stepped on and taken advantage of -- not just that year, but for my entire life. People used my "niceness" for their own personal gain. They exploited my desire to be a good person and took advantage of it. People treated me like a doormat. I was a doormat child, I was a doormat teenager, and I was becoming a doormat adult. This realization changed my life, and I realized I had two choices: Blame everybody around me, and change nothing about my actions... ...or do something about it. I did something about it. I started doing a lot of different things (thatās another story in itself), and eventually got into pickup. I went out everyday and failed A LOT -- but it helped me learn not only how to talk to girls, but also how to talk to people. I ended up injecting confidence into every aspect of my life, and the way I conducted myself completely changed. I was still the same person, but⦠I felt free. I felt validated. I felt different. I felt like me. Pickup made me a better person. It made me the person I am now. 100% Kong, 100% of the time. Pickup isnāt about teaching you how to have sex with as many girls as possible. Itās about this: It teaches you how to be confident in yourself. It teaches you how to get over social anxiety and depression. It teaches you how to make friends and find love, not just with girls but with everybody around you...as well as yourself. It teaches you to believe in yourself and what you have to say. It makes me really sad when people look at us and say, ātheyāre teaching guys how to manipulate womenā or ātheyāre tricking girls.ā If you think pickup is about āmanipulating women,ā itās like thinking learning martial arts is about beating the crap out of people on the street... You COULD do that, but thatās not the point. Same with pickup. Itās not about sleeping with as many girls as possible. Itās about creating an environment for you to grow yourself into a better person. If it wasnāt for pickup, I would be a lonely, single guy and probably still a virgin. It turned my life around -- and we started our YouTube channel to help guys turn their lives around too. The purpose of Simple Pickup is to motivate you to be an awesome person and always spread positivity to those around you. Funny enough, thatās how you get laid. But itās also how you become a better person in every aspect of your life -- not just with women. So now I have a question for you⦠What does pickup mean to you? Simply hit reply to this email and let me know your thoughts. Whenever I ask you to reply, know that Jesse and I respond to as much as we possibly can, but we DO read every single one. -Kong PS - Weāre getting a LOT of emails from people who really want to do Simple 30, but need more time to save up for it.
