Today’s Friday Fan-Art stars the young (and absolutely adorable) Ochre from @murderhutjrs‘ webcomic, Simple Bear! 

For the character of my choice, I’m gonna’ choose Fushia

1: What’s your OC’s biggest insecurity and how would they react if someone pointed it out to them? 

Ochre is extremely insecure about the impression he makes on others. If anyone were tell Ochre that “he was making them uncomfortable,” or “they didn’t like him” Ochre would take it extremely personally and personally punish himself for weeks. He probably would spend days in his room.

Fushia’s the most insecure about her intelligence. She was constantly called out for being “stupid,” and “immature” as a child, so she tries every way possible to appear “together.” If someone calls her out for not knowing what she was talking about, she’d probably just scream at them.

5: How would your OC generally react to someone being verbally abusive towards them for no apparent reason?

Ochre is naive, but he can tell when someone is being unreasonable. If someone was verbally abusive to him, Ochre would tell them to stop and leave that person immediately. He would still remember the harse words and would probably become extremely upset.

Fushia would argue, or be verbal back. Usually both.

6: Does your OC have a realistic image of their own intelligence?

Ochre likes to think he’s a little more creative then he actually is.

Fushia tries to think shes very intelligent, but she secretly thinks she’s an idiot who doesn’t know what shes doing. She hides behind a false ego.

11: How would your OC react to hearing they’re adopted?

Ochre is aware that he’s sorta adopted, so if he had found out that his birth parents weren’t his real birth parents, he would just be confused as to why his grandparents didn’t tell him sooner.

Fushia would be absolutely devastated. She loved her parents very much, but she lost them at a young age (we go more into this in the story, but mentioning it now would be spoilery) and the sudden knowledge that they weren’t her birth parents would cause her to seek out her real ones and ask why they couldn’t keep her.

19: What boosts your OC’s confidence the most?

Ochre always feels more confident after completing tasks by himself/ learning new skills.
