Hermes is the god of athletes why do you draw him so chubby? That makes no sense. He would be fit and skinny/more toned with his muscles. Same with Aphrodite, the love goddess, why is she fat?
I know you’re hating but I’m gonna use this as an excuse to yap abt my character design for Hermes and Aphrodite
For Hermes, yes, he’s the god of athletes, especially racers. Not only that, he’s also considered as the god of speed, so, I get why Hermes should be skinny to fit in the running sport. However, as I’m designing him, I wanted to lean more into a specific domain of his; wrestling.
Hermes invented wrestling, and I’m pretty sure he has a daughter, Palaestra, who’s also the goddess of wrestling. Wrestlers are usually big and fat body because of their continuously adaption to their wrestling-routine, which is what I want Hermes to represent that!
Besides, I like the idea of Hermes not representing the fitted body! Speed = Skinny, yes, but he’s the god of cunning, he looks like a normal mortal to mask his godliness, similarly, he appears chubby so people underistimates his speed! That’s just how I imagine it tho
Hermes is not skinny, he has fat. He’s well skinned tone, and who says he has no muscles?
As for Aphrodite, I sort of imagined her design as the term “full of love”. So she’s so full of love, she’s chubby and fat from all of the love and affection in the world <333 Using the reason she’s a ‘love goddess’ doesn’t really justify she should be skinny as much as she shouldn’t be fat, no?
Aphrodite’s the goddess of love, the most human emotion one could have, so having her fitting in natural human physique was one of my thoughts into my mind designing her.
Besides, Aphrodite’s also fat in many of her statues. Perhaps that’s on me for exaggerating the ‘chubbiness’. But again, I don’t see why its harmful.
any grammar mistakes, ignore, i wrote this half asleep
