Mental Health + Superhero = Overpowered?
The marvel superman, or blonde Jesus. Will most likely never be in the Marvel cinematic universe, due to him having the power of a million exploding suns. But what makes the character interesting, is not the fact that he has the power of a god and is living among man, but the fact that he is a man, with mental problems like the majority of us.
The way that the Sentry received his powers, was from a super serum back when the world was trying to create or re-create the Captain America super soldier, this led to Canada creating weapons plus or Wolverine and Britain creating, you guessed it, Captain Britain. However, with so much power, that has taken down characters like the Hulk and Thor (He even killed Loki), The character of the Sentry is quite interesting, but he seems to be more of a plot device for writers than an actual character worth caring about, until we talk about, how he is constantly battling his inner self called The Void, which is always battling the sentry for control. This explains why the Avengers are afraid of calling on his assistance, due to his character being a wild card. Yet on his days when he is in control, he is compared to a holy man, even once resurrecting his dead friend. Then we have the void, which was able to defeat every iconic marvel teams in an instant.
Overall Sentry is a metaphor of how people with mental health can have good and bad days, but whatever day they happen to be on. They are extremely powerful.
