     Julie’s eyes flicker to Mim, watching the way her eyes trail across the pages of the book she is reading. Then she glances at the tea on the coffee table, surely have grown cold. She taps her fingers on the edge of the chair she is on, hesitating -- and picks up her phone.

     “Hey.”

     She knows if she’s loud enough, Mim will feel her speaking -- because standing in front of the fridge like this, light pouring from it and onto her like a silhouette in the dark, she doesn’t have her phone. So she says hey, waits for Mim to look at her.

one thing about my character.

          one of his talents was always picking up languages.  they had him start from an early age;  moving from russia to the usa to training with shield kept his mind sharp,  and he had a hyper focus when it came to the different nuances of language.  but sign language  --  at least american sign language  --  he had picked up a little later in life,  and was somewhat rusty at it.  still,  he tries.
