psithurism for whoever you feel inspiration for! 💜
Caspian belongs to @immortallaughter Sigmis belongs to me. I don’t know exactly how this ties into the word but it gave me an idea
Sigmis had decided that she absolutely hated land.
Who the hell in their right mind, would willingly live on this sharp, dry bullshit where they had to actually use legs to traverse this place?? Absolute lunatics, that’s who.
She grumbled as she dodged another tree branch. She didn’t remember how she ended up in the middle of a forest seeing as the last thing she remembered was being in the ocean, but she supposed blacking out would be the cause of that memory loss. Gods, she knew she was getting more and more lost by the second.
After a few hours of wandering aimlessly, she emerged at a road that she supposed would somehow lead her to a body of water. She shivered in her meager clothing, again with no memory of acquiring it, as she cautiously walked by the shops lining the road.
Light spilled out onto the street and a man staggered out of the doorway. He reeked of a sour smelling ale that got stronger the closer he got. The sound of his voice grated on her eardrums as he leaned on her with an arm over her shoulder.
“Ew get off,” she hissed in her native language as she shoved him away from her. She swayed a little on her feet, still unused to the stillness of the Above.
He chuckled at her and she rolled her eyes before someone else waltzed out of the building. She looked up to face another man. He had blonde hair tied back with a blue piece of cloth and a fuzzy beard. Swirling ink tattoos covered his arms and chest. His eyes seemed to glow an eerie blue in the high moonlight. “Now what the hell do we have here? Darlin’ why are you outside at this hour half naked?”
“Half naked? I’m clothed am I not?” she asked in the language of the humans. It felt clunky and unrefined in her mouth.
“Yes Darlin’, that dress ain’t exactly public wear,” the man snickered. “You look like absolute hell.”
“I feel like absolute hell, asshole,” she retorted. She was sure she used that word correctly. She’d overheard people call each other that time and time again, so she at least hoped she used it right.
He laughed deep in his belly the way Sigmis saw her father laugh at one of her shitty jokes.
“Asshole huh? What’s your name darlin?”
“Sigmis,” she replied after a moment of deliberation. “And yours is?”
“Apparently instead of Caspian, my name is Asshole now.”
