I’m sort of in between fandoms (despite the SPN resurgence fml) but I think in the TKEM fandom like in all other fandoms, it’s always (a) more women (b) more women in relationships romantic or not with other women and (c) more women. 

I also admit to being part of the problem here what with the way I latched on to one m/m ship like my life depended on it, but in my defense I also did spend a quite lot of time writing about the women. * slinks away *

Cas’s rebellions are all tiny, but they keep getting added to the pile- that time when he didn’t kill ALL of Egypt’s first born, or that time he saved this kid who was supposed to die while out hunting for food in the forest for himself and his orphaned siblings, and almost did, but oops, that’s one bengal tiger that most definitely shouldn’t have been seen in northern mongolia? and  that messed up that whole timeline in an unbelievable way right down to five centuries later, and Naomi’s entire staff was working overtime for twenty cycles to fix the fall out (and think of what that means for creatures that are basically, eternal?), and listen, call her petty, but every time she hits the reset button on him, she feels a visceral satisfaction, she’s fucking earned it, and in time it’s a game, even, on a day she’s bored, she might even do something that leaves temptation strewn right across his path, and LISTEN. It was Anael who was supposed to have saved Dean Winchester, but that one had other ideas, what was this, maybe it was infectious? But fine, the rules are she’s going to have to send in someone from Anael’s battalion, and she really didn’t want to send Cas, but then somehow this fuck had gone and gotten himself into the post of second-in-command while her attention was on 2nd century Medea, and listen, Uriel, this is a BAD IDEA, Zachariah, you fucking pompous middle management incompetent, what makes you think you know more about this stupid shit than I do, oh fine, on your head be it, and don’t come crying to me and yeah, look? SHE WAS TOTALLY RIGHT, only Zach and Uriel were dead, no loss, tbh, and hmm, did she actually have to thank Castiel for her sudden elevation in rank, sure, she’s gonna, just after she makes him kill 1000 versions of that alcoholic himbo he’s set up as God in his stupid, un-killable heart.

SilverFlintMadi would have been the continuation of Casting About in the Dark, in which Silver finds Flint in Cornwall, broken up with Thomas, and takes him home to his new inn in Bristol. At this point, Silver and Madi’s relationship is still extremely strained.

The next story in that series would have explored the rekindling of feelings between Silver and Madi, the beginnings of a reconciliation between Flint and Thomas, but especially the development of feelings and intimacy between Flint and Madi, in Silver’s absence, and then with Silver. As you might gather from the synopsis, none of this is simple or easy.

Here’s a snippet:

“John made a lemon caudle. He says he's improved the recipe this time.”

Flint snorted, and Madi's smile turned to a sympathetic grin as she joined him by the window. John, Flint had discovered, was bent on getting Flint to put on some weight and on keeping Madi warm. It was sweet, of course, but would have been sweeter still had John actually been good at cooking anything more advanced than stew and roasts.

“Let's see what's wrong with it this time,” Flint grumbled, smiling back at Madi as he took the cup from her.

One thing I also wanted to explore was Madi’s relationship with the Orisha (she was never officially declared to be Yoruba, but Hakim Kae-Kazeem has Yoruba tribal marks). It’s a delicate subject that requires a lot of research, though.

I pretty much gave up on writing it partly because of the generally unfavourable feelings in the fandom re Flint/Madi. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  I still think about it sometimes, though and may yet pick it up.

BS x Stargate is a crossover from Black Sails into the Stargate SG-1 universe. It was set in the Stargate SG-1 universe and would have imported Black Sails characters in it.

It never went beyond a crude synopsis, partly because everything Stargate requires me to research 1) military stuff 2) at least 5 of the early SG-1 episodes to find a likely place to set it (because I’m physically incapable of writing something without knowing EXACTLY what’s going on in the original shows)

But it went something like this: Flint is on a British military team in an exchange program with the SGC (basically they were allowed to do their own missions/research via some kind of international collaboration set up at some point in the show). On the team would have been Gates, Billy, and either Eleanor or Miranda (now I think of it, Madi would be awesome too, and especially I realise she and Teal’c could have some very interesting conversations).

Anyhow, Flint was a grumpy bitter son of a bitch, and he was looking for evidence/artefacts/info that he wasn’t meant to look for (regarding Thomas, whose disappearance may or may not be linked with a Goa’uld). I really, really wanted Flint and O’Neill to throw snark at each other and have a few fun confrontations.

Anyhow, Flint somehow ends up having to babysit an archeology team, where Daniel Jackson has found a new best friend in John Silver, an annoying Australian... archeologist, maybe.

okay let’s not beat around the bush, I absolutely love Constance/Porthos as a ship which is hilarious if you look at the first edit I made for them and tagged it ‘not sure I ship this’ lol me, jokes on you.

I just think there’s a lot of common ground there between them since they’re both painfully clear how the world at the time works and sometimes works against them and also there’s a lot of respect. like when Constance was taken Porthos was one of the ones who said it wasn’t right they weren’t going to save her right away, and you can tell in that one scene he hated lying to her about what was going on. and also! he’s like the first to believe her about Fleur when that was going on. like!!!

I do think it’s a shame that Constance didn’t get to reciprocate that much like I’d have loved to see her get involved in the episode where Porthos is back in the Court of Miracles and then she’d also have met Flea I mean what - but as much as I don’t like to acknowledge things after season one in the season three finale when they say goodbye she kisses his cheek and gives him a soft look so it’s clear there’s at least some affection from her side too even if the show didn’t give me that much.

The point is:

I would say that fucking your boarding schoolmates is in fact a feature of that trope and not a bug.

i have a kitchen torch that i have yet to use. i mostly bought it to toast marshmallow frosting but creme brulee was high up on that list. also, all these look great!

"Not stress baking". Oh of course. Although, anything that involves using a blowtorch in the kitchen has my vote.

thank youuuuuuuu!  i have now veriifed that everything is delicious, even the creme brulee soup.  hmm maybe i’ll order a butane canister for the torch today!  sigma can have little a blowtorch, as a treat

I've found that despite loving the introvert life, some zoom/skype/etc time with friends really helps me mentally feel a lot better.

it’s good once i’m actually in the midst of it but i get super nervous beforehand!  also since i live with my family i’m mostly overtaxed, in terms of human interaction, than the other way around -- i had to ask one of my friends to please not call me so much bc just i don’t have the bandwidth rn.  different strokes!

And the other day I had a dream so vivid that I distinctly remember feeling a wall with my hands and bumping something with my toe.  I hear this vivid dream business is supposed to be symptomatic of lockdown life.

i don’t often remember my dreams any more -- in middle and esp high school i had really vivid dreams with, yes, phantom sensation even after waking, like you mentioned, but as an adult i mostly don’t, except for my bananas musician anxiety dreams.  i guess maybe our sleeping brains are as bored as our waking ones.
