Some views of the greenhouse 🌱

Featured is 5 Black Thai Banana trees aka Musa balbisiana 'Black Thai'. This variety is particularly resistant to diseases such as verticillium wilt. Fun fact is that bananas are the world's largest herbaceous plants! They never form a woody stem, and their "stem" itself is just its own leaf bases (petioles), old and new, wrapped tightly around each other.
Second and Third Photos
These feature a Traveller's Palm aka Ravenala madagascariensis. One folk tale says that they grow east to west so that a traveller can always find their way, however that is false. A folk tale that is true about this, however, is that a traveller that is thirsty can poke a hole on this almost anywhere and get some water.
Fourth Photo
This features a gorgeous purple water lily called Nymphaea x 'Foxfire'. These are almost always flowering in the pond and have a gorgeous burgundy mottling on the leaves themselves.
Fifth Photo
This is of a Frangipani, aka Plumeria sp., flower which is often used in the making of traditional Leis by indigenous Pacific Islanders. Its natively found in the Pacific and Cook Islands and has been naturalized in South and Southeast Asia. The species Plumeria alba is actually the national flower of Laos!
