Emptiness, longing, missing.
Searching for something with questions emerging.
A swirling deep inside, a visible shiver.
Yearning for touch, for warmth, for comfort.
The gentle hum of the water - white noise -
Peace found in-between the chitter chatter of talk show hosts.
The cancellation of feelings, emotions from that one tone hitting the base of serenity,
to rise upwards in a whirlwind of mist
creating an image of what lurks within.
Drops of water from the ceiling to the floor reflect the streaks painted in my own heart,
rolling down my cheeks an indistinct cry for help.
My outward shaking shouted about by the roaring wind outside,
testing the cracks in the window frame and exploiting the ones in my own self.
The swirling inside growing longer,
its arms reaching into every crevice swirming and collecting my thoughts in a circle so unhealthy I don’t know how to bring myself out of it.
Feelings of shame and worthlessness make themselves loudly known,
their remarks based on the body I own but should not.
A body that doesn’t feel or look as how it is meant to -
Broken in all the wrong places.
Helplessness pipes up as my femininity is mugged from me,
right before my very eyes.
I hide away from the world and myself as the abomination I currently am.
Overwhelmed with medicinal chemicals,
It no longer does what it’s meant to.
I am a slave to the bacteria that have made me their own,
they seem to be greater in number than the ones I harmoniously live with.
I eat the yogurts and drink the live drinks,
I rest and I wait for the day when my battle is won.
When I can again be proud of who God created me as.
A strong and courageous woman.
