get locked in your own shower and have to be rescued

In the past showers were relaxing and rejuvenating. They helped sooth my pain with warm water.

But now I have to wear rubber gloves just to prevent eczema. It has turned showering into a chore. I have to hold my hands a certain way so water doesn't get into the gloves.

Have you ever washed your hair with rubber gloves? Its not pleasant. Its painful. You can't run your fingers through your hair and its also impossible to tell if your hair is still soapy.

Even if I didn't need the gloves, hot water is a precious commodity in my apartment building. You have to shower as quickly as you can or you will freeze by your final rinse. No time to enjoy how the warm water soothes my muscles.

And the pain. Just standing is painful. Using my arms for long periods is also painful. By the end I have to dry off as quickly as possible then plop down on the bed or couch and rest for 20 minutes before I can finish putting myself together.
