I'm a little shy about my obsession (?)) on one thing.

I had to actually leave the house.

Au idea: The beast story plays out, but they die, and when they do they suddenly awake as their previous forms. Everything was a coma induced dream made by the witches as a final gift before they left so that virtues could see what can happen if they were to falter and fall.
