More progress. The sleeve plackets weren't so bad to recut once it was done. I basted a TON with the collar pieces and still they were finicky.
Picked up Shirtmaking by David Page Coffin, so I'll be spending the evening reading up and hopefully finding out how to improve my shirtmaking.
Really close to finishing out this first shirt of the series, already have many improvements to pour into the next two ....

Guys I devised a smarter, neater, easier way of attaching cuffs to shirt sleeves last night and I am *so pleased* with myself. 48 hours of staring at the book saying "no, this doesn't work, it's wrong; and a couple of years spent learning & thinking critically about my sewing, and now I'm the sort of person who can...problem solve to find a solution. Like, a new technique for attaching cuffs which eliminates the problems I was having with existing methods. I am Pleased.

Shipped all the way from Australia, we were super excited to transform this vintage 1970β²s duvet cover into what is possibly our favourite shirt yet. Davidβs been a huge Jim Henson fan for years so this one is a bit special. We finished it off with some beautiful dark wood buttons whilst on a working holiday in the lakes. The photo is taken in the village of Caldbeck where we spent our time sewing and walking in the fells.Β
