Like the way Lacey and PG are both very much these unkillable, unnaturally powerful entities with bad social skills who kinda hate everyone and it comes from a place of being deeply hurt in their past.

And then there’s Mimi and Suzzie who are both these unsinkably cheerful and assertive girls who are utterly unfazed by the blunt hostility of PG and Lacey respectively. The powerful energy of “ferociously, angrily upbeat young person who will force the monster to become friend” is shared between them. Like, they see a walking disaster that murders anything in the way and immediately decide it is friend shape and they will make a friend by force.

At the end of it all, yes Lacey and PG have left their friends behind to continue their swathes of destruction, but you get the impression they haven’t seen the last of each other. These people have changed each other’s lives, and you know that neither PG nor Lacey can shake off the discovery of friendship, while both Mimi and Suzzie are way to stubborn to never see their friends again.
