hey idk if u still wanting spy novel recs, but i can give u some. john le carre is a pretty good author, although his writing is super subtle so u gotta read slowly nd carefully to get the whole picture. "the spy who came in from the cold" is AMAZING and possibly his best novel and i just finished rereading it it is good. "single and single" is one i LOVE because i love my angsty son oliver and i really enjoyed this one. also read "the constant gardener" if u want to cry a lot it is very good
