My interpretation of what Grillby would be as a mershark. Hammerhead Sharks can live near underwater volcanos. Or known as Sharkcanos.

- So far three sharks species have been discovered living in the Sharkcano of Kavachi. The Hammerhead, Silky Sharks and the rare Large Pacific Sleeper Shark.

Volcano sharks are a great way to incorporate a Fire Monster or a Fire Magic user into an underwater environment.
When I saw a picture of a Hammerhead from the Sharkcano, I thought of Grillby.
