Couple things I wanna share about how I draw teen Phineas Flynn from a character design perspective.
(all of this is just my opinion)
I'm starting to realize teenage Phineas looks better in what I like to call 'big pants'. So cargo pants or tripp pants. Bottom heavy.
I'm thinking the reason he looks better is because his child design has boxy cargo shorts that are actually part of his shape language as a character.
It adds contrast to Ferb's scrawny legs. It mirrors Ferb's outfit in the way that Ferb is mostly pants and Phineas is mostly shirt. The square shape of his pants gives a more grounded feeling to his pointy character design so his triangles read more as sharp minded rather than a dangerous character.
Notice that there's something a little bit off with Phineas' canon teen design
His pants aren't boxy so part of his character shape is incomplete. If we give him cargo pants to mimic his cargo shorts as a child it has a stronger shape language
Now the second thing I want to mention is my color choice for Phineas' walking cane
His cane is actually the same color as his hair which means it can go along with any colored outfit he wears and feel connected to his character color pallete. Also red is probably his favorite color :3 ideally he would put stickers and add modifications to it but I keep it simple for my own sake 😅
