guys Into the Woods is such a lyrical, visual and musical masterpiece and it’s free to watch on youtube like I keep coming back to it on the days where I kind of lose myself or feel uncertain about things, and the show just has all these affirmations and philosophies about life that don’t sugar coat how complicated life can be, but help you learn to break it up into bite size pieces.

“you’re just nice; you’re not good you’re not bad you’re just nice” is such a fantastic line that represents human nature

“you want to get your wish doesn’t matter how, anyway it doesn’t matter now”

LIKEEEEE the witch is such a well written character and people forget she’s literally MOTHER GOTHEL in another universe. rapunzel is much younger in Into the Woods, so she’s not a big of a character, but.

to connect to Cinderella Boy, each of the characters is inspired by fairytale characters, and are hence representing archetypes within the story.

so how am i connecting these three fandoms?

they all are based on the principle that characters must act according to their archetype. and then defy that principle.

cinderella, the dreamer, doesn’t know what she wants.

the baker, the hero, acts on impulse and emotion.

little red riding hood, the innocent girl, lets her competitiveness take a hold of her and she manipulates jack.

eugene, the rogue, goes soft for a girl he met.

rapunzel, the damsel, fights for her right to freedom. (in the disney movie)

buddy, the villain, has love in his heart.

violet, the villainess, is willing to hurt others to bring her family back together.

chase, the hero, can be inconsiderate and selfish. (at times. if anyone wants more explanation ask me)

and i simply think that this is a beautiful way to teach people to not judge a book by its cover and not assume that a person will act according to made up stereotypes.

people make decisions that align with their morals, goals, and commitments. and it might not be what you expect. and that’s okay.

When Buddy said he wanted to be just like her I wouldn't imagine he meant in the way she slaps people too.
