Jeff and Max don't get along well but still care for each other in ways that aren't direct speech. Max often borrrows her brother's flannel shirts without asking because having a part of him with her reminds her that there was a time where they were closer, and she wants to clung to that feeling even though it isn't as present as it was before.

If I had to improve the break-in scene, I would keep Max and Jeff's arguments about Bonesy, make Max die in a power out scene style where the lights start flickering in the Parts and Service Room, make Jeff witness her death so he can feel guilty about their earlier fight, and kill him last instead of Max.

I don't think Max would ever forgive her brother for the emotional abuse that she went through for so many years because of him. Sure, she would put up with him, but not forgiving him. The damage is already done.
