Splash page for the Doc Savage feature in Shadow Comics (vol. 1) #3 (May, 1940).
Written by Lester Dent (as Kenneth Robeson), adapting his story The Land of Terror, the second Doc Savage novel originally published in the April, 1933 issue of Doc's pulp magazine. The artist is believed to be Henry Kiefer, according to the Grand Comics Database.
This was Doc's third - and final - appearance in The Shadow's comic book. He, along with the second part of this story, moved over to his own comic, which lasted 20 issues.
Now, can someone tell me why Doc appears to be burning off his left hand in that top panel?
