Editorial work is the creative lifeblood of a working photographer.  Limited time, limited opportunity to make an impression.  I recently wrote and photographed a feature for Iron & Air Magazine, surrounding the book release of Todd Blubaugh. Todd’s book Too Far Gone is a story of loss and reinvention, and it was a pleasure getting to sit with him for a bit to talk about it.
Steve West (of Silver Piston Jewelry) and I were cut from the same cloth.  He’s been making custom and beautiful rings and accessories for men for the last handful of years, and when I asked him about a ring, he asked for some photos in lieu of payment. Â
Considering we both come from the garage world, I asked him if I could shoot something a little different than he’d been used to seeing with his pieces.  He agreed, and I was happy to experiment outside the bounds of our usual boxes.

Spent months on this thing... it was almost sold the other day, and while the cash would’ve been great, I still would rather see it get dirty first.
Carah Faye launched her solo career last night at The Troubadour. Â I grew up down the street from this talented lady, and have watched her career grow since she was singing for Shiny Toy Guns in 2003. Â It was wild to watch her pack one of the most iconic venues in Los Angeles for her first solo.Â
