Dear sewing Tumblr, can anyone please recommend pants patterns for someone with a big ass but small hips? Excuse the exaggerated proportions but this is what i mean:
Even when a pattern matches my waist and hips measurements it fits so badly - tight around the bum, back waistband pulled down a couple inches below where it should be, all kinds of tension lines around the crotch. I have tried some pattern adjustments but I need to change the patterns so drastically (and I am new at this) that the results are still kind of bad... I just want some pants that fit 😭
Anybody have an tips on seeing a button on? I already did it once but it came off-
I think I am going to try and make a little stuffed animal of Jax...
Haven't sewn the stuffed animal since I made a really bad looking cat when I was 10 but my sewing ability has gotten much better....

For my evil pomni plush I’ve been trying to figure out rufly how to make the head with paper. Yet it turns out paper might not be the right material to express the look of what I’m looking for
Again this is what I’m trying to make and I want it to be pretty big, maybe as big as watermelon for the body.
Does anyone have any tips for ways I might be able to make this thing cuts with, any papers that might help, any cheap materials I could buy a lot of that has a more fabric feel other then paper
ok guys so i have this dress
but the neckline is too deep :( there's lots of extra room in the sleeves/shoulders and if I just sewed an inch down and cut off the extra fabric it'd be great but idk the best way to do it!! the sleeves don't have a center seam so like... would i go down the whole sleeve? but there's also extra fabric there to make the sleeves poofy so i don't wanna risk ruining it. all the videos that i've found are for shirts/dresses with a shoulder section like this
and that's easy enough you just remove the sleeve sew down the shoulder than put the sleeve on but what do you do when the sleeve and the shoulder is one and the same 😭 i could just freehand it but then i risk ruining it lol do y'all have any advice?
Sewing side of tumblr! Broken zip! Help?
I have a lovely padded bodywarmer jacket thing and the zip died last week - I can make the teeth engage for a couple inches if I start it really carefully but then it inevitably comes apart. There isn't any visible damage around that area and it can start coming apart in slightly different places. Also you can start zipping the zip (or failing to do so) anywhere if you're not careful.
So, like. How fix? Is there a magic trick to make the slidey bit work properly again, if that's the bit that's broken? How feasible might it be to replace the whole zip, with so many layers in play and I'm not sure what order they are sewn in?
