Fellow drownedrat shipper!! OMG do you have hcs? Thoughts? YAP AWAY I need to hear
DUDE YES OMG I HAVE SO MANY HCS AND THOUGHTS RAAAHHH!!! one of the biggest reasons they appeal to me sm is because I never really fw reg's characterisation when placed in jegulus (no hate to those who do) and the fact that sometimes it can undermine a lot of his personality and make it like. real dependent on the ship. HOWEVER in drownedrat (ik that's like the more popular shipname but I still prefer sewerat highkey) the relationship is built off similarities in the characters' personalities and that goes SO SO HARD OMG man the whole "never been anyone's first choice, constantly disregarded in favour of other more spotlight/attention-attracting ppl" but then them actually NOTICING EACHOTHER when NO ONE ELSE REALLY DOES thing is DELICIOUS to meeee in terms of hcs I really like the idea of peter having the most muggle-exposure out of the marauders (alongside remus) and I love the concept of him really liking comics specifically so I think he'd sneak off into reg's dorm on rainy days and they'd read comics together <3 I think he'd be the main source of regulus's (initially begrudging but curious) exposure to the muggle world, not having the same resentment that he would if for example sirius tried to introduce him to the same things. ON THAT NOTE, I love the idea of peter gifting him a walkman bc I just imagine him constantly wearing it everywhere (very autistic so helps to drown (HAHA) out noise + stops people from talking to him when he's nonverbal and doesn't want to initiate or be involved in any conversations whatsoever). similarly, reg'd also be the main source of peter's exposure to the ideologies + propaganda rampant in pureblood circles & communities, and since he's more timid and prone to trying out others' point of view just to see where they're coming from and avoid conflict, he ends up understanding regulus' worldview much better than any of the other marauders would - he doesn't agree with it, but he understands why regulus thinks the way he does, and he does his best to gently break down those ways of thinking without making it seem like he's trying to change who regulus is, fundamentally, as a person (since he's built a lot of his internal identity around his (parents') beliefs). holy cornball what the ramble I GTG DO MATHS HW BUT I'M DEF GONAN POST MORE ABT MY HCS THX FOR THE ASKKKK !!!
