what are your pandora hcs?? specifically: what does she look like? who is/what is her family like? your favourites of her ships and friendships? what are her opinions on reptiles? what's her style like?

helloooo hi sorry this took a while I forgot oopsie! this is super disorganized

• for me, I reject the magical ditz pandora. she's honestly not even that whimsical to me? her 'whimsical' aspects would be her positivity and joy. her whimsy comes from the knowledge she can find from the mysteries of life. shes an optimist, maybe a bit too much so. you can push and push her to the edge and then she snaps. her mood can crash in an instant and she'll suddenly be super callous and cold. shes insanely smart and highly emotionally intelligent and because of this, if you wrong her horribly she values forgiveness first until she can no longer. then she will find a way to ruin your life in a terribly cruel way. shes very similar to evan in this regard.

• I think a good way to describe her would to say shes preoccupied. she honestly doesnt have a lot of time for things that dont align with her hobbies. she's very driven and bound to her research. most of the time her research is in hopes of helping the people she loves though.

• pandora is kind and I do think she wouldve enjoyed being a mother. she finds so many wonders in life and she would have been eager to show Luna them.

• she likes chemistry most and absolutley excels in it. I believe she has her own lab situated within a greenhouse. she likes lizards and would want to work to protect them! i dont think shes into taxidermy, thats evans thing. I really like when characters are a 'set' and for together with their personalities (call me slughorn) so while evan is obsessed with death, pandora is obsessed with life.

• her relationship to the land is an unbreakable bond. she loves nature in all its kindness and cruelty. I believe shes a lot about balance.

• she is all about science. everything is scientific to her. she doesnt believe in fate or gods. shes almost no nonesense in that regard. she doesnt have a lot of patience for religious or spiritual people but she humors them, especially her grandmother who is a witch.

• yet she puts aside her disbelief for the spiritual when it comes to her native roots. she will do rituals to reconnect with her heritage.

• she, like evan, is also vegan.

• I see her as biracial. black and first nation. in scotty doesnt know shes albino with white locs. shes very tall and mid-size with a squishy stretched up stomach. and she has a naval piercing

• she dresses in maxi skirts. I dont think she ever wears pants tbh. she doesnt like a lot of jewlery, it gets in the way and stops her mobility while experimenting. she wears waist chains.

• her favourite color is purple

• i like to picture her on foggy mornings with a cup of cofee meandering down to her greenhouse in a cardigan and nightgown to check on her experiments.

• her family consists of Evan, who i hc as her twin like most, and her grandmother (Clarice) who raised them. i dont really think about their parents because their parents are only really useful to me in a canon compliant setting. Felix is their half brother but they never see him nor know anything of him.

• I dont really ship her an xenophilius because I know nothing about him and dont really care to. I think though, that ive basically accidentally replaced him with sybill. they seem to have similar personalities?

• her friends are evan and barty. I would like to see her with regulus i just cant get a good understanding of him. dorcas and her used to hook up to quell pandora's horniness when she realized she wasnt attracted to men and her usual prospects weren't cutting it for her anymore. she uses barty and evan as her sexual experiments and she is soooooo sweet to them which is why they'll be her experiments if nothing else. but dorcas is her temporary loving sweetheart. dorcas is probably the only normal thing in her life.

• dorcas and her are very good friends after that. they dont fuck but they have a bond. dorcas is a rock for pandora, another smart, sensible mind for her to relate to.

In the books when Harry sees the trial, Barty is 19 years old. He still looks like a child, he has freckles and sandy hair and he is terrified.

He is so clearly in over his head and not even his own father will save him.

And it's a really important thing! Particularly for Harry. Harry discovers a lot of anger in Book 3, directed at Sirius and then at Peter. He claims he's going to kill Sirius. He decides Peter deserves the dementors.

But by the end of Book 4, Barty doesn't deserve them. Because Harry begins to find sympathy for those who just like him were given a shitty lot in life, and who didn't get the love they deserved.

It doesn't excuse what they did, but Harry feels sympathy for them. That sympathy is one of his greatest strengths. It allows him to forgive Snape and gain the information he needs. It allows him to empathise with and understand Voldemort in order to predict his moves and hiding places.

Barty may have been crazy, but he's honestly an example of how even a good person (the things we hear in canon about his childhood have him as a star student and lovely kid who no-one would have expected this of) can feel so lost and neglected (canonically the reason Barty Sr got demoted) that they turn to something dangerous and evil, only to get in too far and have no-one to save them.

the party's ways to wake him have included — with varying levels of success — pouring water on him (jane), picking him up and dragging him out of bed (lucas and will), licking the shell of his ear (dustin), clanging pots over his head (max), whispering will's name gently (max), and most preferably, not waking him up at all and instead opting to draw on his face with market pen !!
