Okay so since the Knight Construct (which is absolutely just Fi’s operating system uploaded to a new body, fight me) vs evil construct fight established that a single SHARD of the Master sword can manifest a phantom version of itself that does actual damage, that puts the durability system of BOTW and TOTK in a whole new light.

Yes, Fi is OLD. She is old and tired and I love that she is not fully eternal. It’s such good angst. But seeing her absolutely LOCK THE FUCK IN the second there was actual danger is so good.

His paws glow with light, and the "lightning sparks" ARE NOT LIGHTNING. They're supposed to be strands of light I guess?? Idk I thought it looked cool at first but I'm going to start drawing it differently to avoid confusion.

 it took me a coupla tries to draw something i liked/thought worthy and i’m overall pretty proud of this piece, and so i really really hope you like it!!!

He would let MC run around his island and give her all the cool fruits so she can pay off Tom Nook as fast as possible.

I also think that TOTK’s plot would make him Feel Things and he would clear his schedule to beat Ganondorf over and over again. He would sit on the Light Dragon’s head and then go and curl up with MC for a while.

Xavier I feel like he would absolutely slay at Super Smash Bros and Hollow Knight but would be baffled by a rhythm game or an exploratory game like BOTW, which would then lead to him watching MC play it.

This will be a disorganized ramble lmao you’ve been warned.

Getting my complaints out of the way first:

Okay why didn’t they just make the constructs Fi and Ghirahim? A rematch between those two would’ve been AWESOME and so thematically on point. Plus Calamo could’ve been the Deku Tree dedicating himself to fixing his buddy across the millennia or something. Do I like the idea of the Koroks growing into the giant trees we find across Hyrule? Yes, absolutely, that’s fantastic.

Just… I will be adjusting my fics that take place during that era to incorporate my own headcanons about the Constructs and the Zonai.

However, I didn’t mind the inclusion of the constructs and their story. I actually really liked the lore about them destroying the Zonai. It reinforced the message in BOTW of technology being weaponized against people when it shouldn’t have been (it’s also a very interesting commentary on artificial intelligence). Since the Knight Construct is very obviously powered by a shard of the Master Sword, I’m just confused as to why it wasn’t purely Fi, and was instead something that walked and vocalized like Link (except for several cutscenes). I get that from a marketing perspective the executives are worried about a game that doesn’t include Link, but I loved Echoes of Wisdom (it’s the one top-down Zelda I’ve played through more than once). It just seems like they were worried more about the reception of a game without Link than making a cohesive story.

I also think that Age of Imprisonment started out as playable sections in Tears of the Kingdom before they decided that the game files would break the switch.

Think about it

Rauru and the others fight Ganondorf to the brink of defeat, nearly winning. They have him on the ropes. Ganondorf refuses to be defeated and swallows his stone, either not knowing what it does or hoping to prevent Rauru from taking it. He transforms into the demon dragon.

Unable to combat it in an underground space, Rauru seals the dragon, but a specter of it—a Phantom Dragon, if you will—escapes every 10,000 years afterwards.

This would’ve been in line with dialogue in BOTW about Ganondorf’s “transformation into Malice” as King Rhoam puts it.
