— Always places his hand on top of your head for any picture—he’s either doing a peace sign or just holding his hand there.

— Puts his hand gently on your back when walking through crowds, making sure you don’t get bumped around.

— Tilts your face up so that he can kiss you properly.

— Buys you oversized hoodies that end up looking like dresses on you.

— Always notices when you’re cold and pulls you into his jacket without hesitation.

— Teases your height every chance he gets.

— When you tell him that you’ve grown taller, he stands up and says, “(Y/N), where’d you go?”

— Pretends he can’t see you when you’re standing behind taller people, joking, “Wait, where’s my girlfriend?”

— Helps you reach for higher shelves that you can’t. — Sometimes carries you piggyback style for fun, especially if you get tired.

— He really loves resting his chin on the top of your head whenever you hug.

— He often bends down a little just to match your height when taking pictures together.

— Loves pulling you close on the couch because you fit perfectly tucked against him.

— When you pout about being short, he grins and says, “Good thing, or else I couldn’t cuddle you like my personal teddy bear.”

— When you walk on a cold day, he’ll tuck you under his arm like you’re his personal heater.

— Finds your height adorable but never lets you feel insecure about it; he always makes you feel like the cutest person alive.

— He leans down to kiss your forehead without even thinking about it, it’s become second nature.

— If you ever complain about being short, he’ll tell you, “No—you’re just the perfect size for me.”

— Loves when you hug him tightly, laughing that you look even smaller wrapped around him.

— If you ever try to act intimidating, he melts inside because it just makes you cuter.

— Sometimes bends his knees dramatically to “shrink” down to your height and says, “See? Now we match.”

— He sees you struggling with something heavy, takes it from your hands easily, and grins.

— Always looks out for you in a crowd—he’ll grab your hand or put his arm around you so you don’t get swallowed up.

— Gently pulls you to walk on the inside of the sidewalk so he’s closer to the cars.

— Loves when you wear platform shoes or heels but still end up shorter than him.

— Secretly thinks you look the cutest when you’re on tiptoes trying to reach him for a kiss.

— Uses your head as an “armrest” just to annoy you—until you swat him away.

— Loves sneaking up behind you and picking you up without warning, just because he can.

— Constantly teases you with, “You’re so small,” but immediately defends your height if anyone else mentions it.

— Sometimes holds things above your head and says, “Magic word?” before giving them back.

— Always has to grab stuff from the top shelves because you’re too stubborn to admit you can’t reach.

— Walks just a little closer when the sidewalk gets crowded, keeping people from bumping into you.

You ran over the other side of the yard to get the ball and handed it over to him.

"What's your name?" He asked, reaching for the ball.

"I don't owe you an answer," you replied.

In fourth grade, you were arrogant, not that you aren't now.

He just smiled. "How about I owe you something instead? Ice cream?" Now we're talking.

And every weekend, you two went outside and met each other at the park nearby for some ice cream. It became tradition.

He would always treat you.

Even if you were already in your first year in high school.

You had also noticed that you were rather fond of him. He was growing into you. But your friendship turned upside down one day. With one question.

"Hypothetical question, would you consider liking someone back if they confessed?" Seonghyeon asked, licking his ice cream.

Your heart skipped at the question.

"Weird question, Sean," you retort, avoiding.

"Would you?" He pushed. You thought for a while. Maybe you should play into his games for a bit.

"Yeah, I guess. Depends on who the person is." Your shoulders shrug.

"What if it were me?" There it was.

You cursed internally. Your thoughts were scrambling to find a reply.

"Sean, I—" But before you could say anything, he pressed his lips against yours. You panicked. This wasn't how you imagined it would be.

You pushed him back softly. You scanned his face, and then you realized how much his features had changed. His features are more defined, and his height is now taller. Maybe the thing that grew into you wasn't friendship; maybe you did like him.

And with confused feelings, you pulled him in for another kiss.

And that was the day you had your first boyfriend.

Your relationship with him was the best at the beginning. He always gave you flowers, love letters, and supported you.

But around your 4th month together, problems started. 

You had problems with him almost every day. Arguments ended with neither party remembering whose fault it was. Blaming was always present, and the two of you hid this relationship from everyone, or you did. 

Your parents were strict and always monitored your movements. And eventually, they found out. 

They asked you to pack your bags immediately. You were moving to a new state, a new school. It was fine for you. You were about to end things with him anyway. 

And without a word, you had left him, left your old house, the one that stood beside Seonghyeon's house. The one where you grew up. You turned your phone off, knowing he might text or even call. 

You thought he would be the one. But apparently, it was just naive love. Maybe you did love him, but it wasn't a match. 

You quickly got over him.
