I'm already missing field work! And have been for a while, since the last few weeks of my field season were spent in the office. As gratifying as more responsibility is, it's a lot less fun than being a lowly field tech! ... Here I am amongst a newly discovered population of Actaea arizonica (formerly Cimicifuga arizonica), Arizona bugbane. These rhizomatous perennials are on our Forest rare and sensitive plants list and are closely monitored every year. They're very beautiful and have a slightly citrusy smell that I like.
