horrible to admit but i think my true self is this #trump caricature. i feel & look exactly like this. ( #caricature by frank hoppmann ) #selfidentification #notwiththepersonoftrumphimselfjustwiththelooksofthecaricature
Love me some #BScott. #Androgynous "Over the years my #LoveMuffins and strangers alike have questioned me about my #GenderIdentity. What IS B. Scott? As a society we’ve been conditioned to believe that a person has to be ‘exactly’ this or ‘exactly’ that. Biologically, I am male — as my sex was determined at birth by my reproductive organs. However, my spirit truly lies somewhere in between. It is that same spirit that has allowed me to become so comfortable in my skin, choose how #IExpressMyself, and contributes to how I live my day-to-day life. #Transgender is the state of one’s gender identity (#SelfIdentification as woman, man, neither or both) not matching one’s assigned sex (identification by others as male, female or intersex based on physical/genetic sex). [Source: GLAAD] It is by that definition that I accept and welcome the ‘transgender’ label with open arms."
I finally read the From Queer Women to Straight Girls RE: Ruby Rose article. I like the opposition to phrases like “turned gay” for so and so, and the idea that sexuality is a choice. I can’t help but feel a bit uneasy about it, though. I think it’s important to speak out against homophobia and notions of choosing your sexuality, but I remember for years thinking of certain women as attractive without understanding or identifying it as attraction. Personally, I’m not a fan of suggesting selective gayness, but I think it’s worth considering that behind some of the poorly worded adoration of the undeniable RR, perhaps there is some confusion. It can be hard to understand sexuality when it is widely held that sexuality, while it may be one of many things, requires some sort of boundary and branding. Whether it’s the choice to self-identify, or in trying to answer the asshole question of the day [“Soooo, what are you now, then?”] I have to say, I’m terrified. I’m scared to embrace something about myself and celebrate it out of fear for the harsh words I’ve seen about the “criteria” I have to meet in order to be “allowed” to self-refer as queer, or that I’m “less gay” than someone else because of who I’ve been with, or because of the way I look or dress or act.

Stop worrying about who is gay or straight or what it “means to be” a man or woman or anything "in between” the restrictive binary world we live in. Let people be. All the pretty colours and all of the many shades.
It makes me sad that I’m hesitant to post this. I’m not trying to claim or deny any privilege; my only intention is to advocate for anyone to have the freedom to self-identify, or choose not to, without fear of retribution. Any other meaning is a result of my well-intentioned but poorly executed self-expression.
