That being said… I AM working on drafting up a revamped version of my main CBS MacGyver self insert, Emmett Becker- clap and cheer if you remember and love Emmett !!! /lh
I wanted to scrap the psychologist specialty for them bc I’m not really srsly considering that as a career path anymore atm and I’m pretty dead set on physics irl so I wanted to honor that in my primary self insert for the show!!
Back when I first made my s/i I was very concerned with ‘fitting’ into the show, like having a niche, like Riley is computers, Bozer is creative expression/more artsy stuff, that kinda thing
And I knew/know that Mac is very much the engineering/physics guy so I felt like my physics niche was already occupied- and I couldn’t very well try to take that spot from Mac bc 1.) I love him/p and I wouldn’t want to, 2.) he is literally the title character 😭
BUT I came to the conclusion yesterday morning as I woke up, that Mac is very much an APPLIED physics type, using his knowledge of classical Newtonian physics to engineer practical solutions from next to nothing
MY interest in physics has always been more in the ballpark of the theoretical, what with my enduring interest in quantum physics, astrophysics* and cosmology*
As such, I’ve decided that Emmett CAN be a physicist at the Phoenix Foundation, I’m just still working out the details!! More on this when I post their new ref/info later!!! :D
*worth noting that though I classify MY interests within these fields as more in the theoretical realm, there is much to be done in experimental versions of these fields!
Also worth noting that I am literally a physics undergraduate student and I know little more than the average person with an internet connection and too much time on their hands, so I am BY NO MEANS an expert, despite how much I love learning about it!! (<- autistic guy who is also kinda stupid <3)
