He kisses your temple, murmuring quiet words meant only for you. He reassures you that you are safe, that you are doing beautifully, that he is here and he is not leaving.

Whenever fear overwhelms you or the pain becomes too much, you look to him. Those blue-green eyes remain steady and certain, filled with so much love. The way he looks at you makes you feel as though you are the strongest woman in the world.

When your child finally arrives and is placed in his arms, he is utterly lost in the very best way. Because there, in that tiny face, he sees a perfect little blend of the two of you.
