The question I must ask you in return however is not do your men, and possibly you wish your death to mean something, or your life? This is the question I myself have pondered at great length. Through the ultimate sacrifice some good can be achieved and many hope to use their last breath to that end, but how much more can be done by surviving the day. How much more can one accomplish in a lifetime against a brief moment of heroism?

That is why I believe that each and every life in the my Spellbreakers, in the Sunspear, in the Sunguard, and even in Quel’Thalas is worth honoring and protecting. In these times of strife we do not know who will be the next leader, the next hero to take the reins and bring about change. If we allow lives to be used as fodder we may lose each of these sparks and that is a tragedy beyond measure. For what can replace the potential of the future?

Finally I will address the last point. As a leader, I know each time I put on my armor and enter battle that there will be faces I will never see again. Women and Men that by order will not make it back to camp, will never see their families again, and will never watch the sunrise the next day. This knowledge pains me each time I dwell on it, but in that idea hides how I accept things. I work hard and train equally to ensure that my Spellbreakers are the best they can be, and in this trust we take the front line each in turn preparing for whatever we may face. I would never give an order I wasn’t willing to take myself, so I join them on the fronts, in full armor and in position to surrender my own life if it is for victory of home.

When we return we focus on those we lost, saying our final words to the comrades that didn’t make it back with us. Honor not their deaths, as that final moment is just that. The final moment. Remember the lives our fallen have lived, the good they have done and the legacy that was left behind. We are soldiers and so death is not something we can escape, but the path we have left behind us is what is more important than the destination.
