can we as a society stop trying to get kids to give up their comfort blankets/stuffed animals when they reach the age of like, 10? like, fuck that, my mom donated my favorite baby blanket to charity when I was 11 or 12, and that shit genuinely fucked me up, the fact that she did it without asking too
I am 15 and I still sleep with a stuffed bunny with a blanket body every single night. can't sleep without it. I will be a legally recognized adult in a few years, and I sleep with this bunny in my arms every single night without fucking fail, and growing up, so many TV shows I watched every day made me feel so stupid for holding onto that bunny.
fuck that, this bunny has seen me through the lowest points in my life, even if I admittedly haven't lived that long yet. she is a security item and taking things like that away from your kids, especially if you're already a really horrible person like my mom is one of the worst things you can do to your kids, there's entire studies on why you should let your child brow out of their security plushie/blanket/etc. on their own time
and yet there is an episode of almost every kids TV show about one of the tween or teenage characters giving up their stuffed animal or blanket when they are very obviously not read to do so, and it's celebrating like traumatizing your kid is the best thing since sliced bread
fuck that shit, suck my dick children's TV programming, you can pry Bun-Bun out of my cold, dead, hands
