Day 22: The Secret Password is...
Keep it Straight
Today’s website is another game! The concept is simple, move your cursor from the left side of the page to the right in a straight line. At first the challenge is pretty easy but as you progress through the game it gets insanely difficult.
Figuring out how to handle all of the various moving parts was the major challenge for this site. Initialize the game, detect when the cursor goes off the path, detect when the player wins the level, load the new level.... It was really confusing! I ended up drawing some sketches of what I wanted to occur which definitely helped me see the problem more clearly. When in doubt, start sketching!
As I said, the game gets extremely challenging at the end. As a payoff, I put a secret password on the last page. Email/tweet/FB post the password and you get the official title of Super Awesome. Good luck!
