I had my second interview today and I'm hoping I get it! This could seriously change my life and help my mental health.
So I visited the office I am interviewing for and it was nice! I drove because my train pass didn’t work for some reason and did a whole walk of shame back home to get my car keys instead!!! I wanted to see the commute on train vs driving and I concluded that taking the train will make my life easier overall but still extremely time consuming (I am adamant about working at a place close to where I am living because I refuse to live my life commuting). Driving still gives me anxiety (and I am anti cars) but when I am on the road it feels nice to blast my music and just be on my own.
Anyways the head designer was so nice to me! She was soo sweet! She said that everyone looked through my portfolio and out of like 80 applicants both recent grads and multiple year experienced professionals my portfolio was one of the good ones and they were all impressed! (she laid it on thick which made me nervous lol like she’s making sure I don’t take it too hard when I get rejected) It felt nice to hear someone say good things about my work and she even mentioned some of them just through our conversation! I think she would make a great boss!
Anyways I love the work that they do! It’s creative, it’s in printing/making books, the office is nice and modern, and the design team seems close knit! I think I would love it! I’m trying not to be too relaxed or too confident nor too nonchalant about it because I’m not sure if I 100% want it. Big part is just the location—it’s so far away and doing that everyday for 5 days a week will take away a lot of my time and trying to live my life seems so far away but I can’t deny that this would be a good opportunity too. I am still thinking about doing packaging design and that is a tough field to get into too.
Anyways no decisions made! Will be starting work next week after my trip and I’ll have to drive for once! It’s new and exciting and I am going to have to shed my laziness now. It seems things are going back to normal and I do feel uneasy about it but it’s what happening. Cant nap all day anymore!
Second interview is done. I don't know how I'm feeling about it. I studied the format they were going to use so I was prepared for their questions. I had an answer for everything and made sure to show my skills across all the industries where I've worked.
I should be more confident in myself. I don't know. I'll hear back about it next week. 🤞🤞
Scored a second interview for the job I applied for, but with the holidays approaching they won't be holding second interviews until January. Good things come to those who wait I suppose.
