@seamstrxssedā (because we discussed this a couple times and i finally can put words together for Shiloh)
āOn one hand, this whole collab thing is exciting. An opportunity I wanted and wished for, not quite thinking it was prayer worthy, but still really wanted.ā
āBut on the other this isnāt what I wanted when I started out. I wanted to share how I modified my own things to accommodate and a single mom reached out saying she didnāt know how to sew but her little boy needed shirts. I couldnāt just abandon a child.Ā So I told her to send the shirts to me she needed fixed, and pictures of how to measure and she was so precise I didnāt have a problem at all. Then she sent me photos saying he loved them, that heād never had a shirt that fit him and good Lord did I know how that felt to finally have something fit your body the way you really needed it to.āĀ
Shiloh was pacing as she talked, a careful path around her mannequin that sheād drawn on the back of to replicate the placement and measure of her own wings. There was some fabric pinned to it, but nothing really note-worthy about the material.Ā
"So I agreed to take a couple commissions, and thereās just so many.ā There were definitely a lot, though most of them were almost done just in need of finishing touches or last checks on stitchwork before being packed up and sent off.Ā āIt feels like itād be wrong to close the commissions for a while, but Iām starting to feel like Iām drowning in work. The videos, the sewing, and I havenāt even gotten the time to do my own shirts lately but thatās fine. Iād rather focus on my commissions cause some of them are time-sensitive and I am just so tired.ā
Did Hli ask for this venting? No, was Shiloh doing it anyway? Yeah. She wasnāt expecting anything but an open ear, and she knew Hli knew Shiloh wasnāt looking for a solution at the moment.Ā āI should close commissions a while, catch up on my own stuff, but where else are they going to go?Ā Why is it so hard to prioritize myself when I know thereās people that need this?ā That was the real question.
