have you added any of your own characters in the ddd!au ? how do they interact with the canon cats?
I haven’t but I’m thinking about it! I don’t really have any of my own wc characters except for a couple I’ve just thought about a little bit. I’m still pretty new to posting wc stuff!
I have one idea that’s just. a shitpost that I think would be really funny. I was brainstorming a pirate au where each clan is a crew (maybe of privateers) and leaders are captains, deputies are first mates. I also found out that other ppl have had similar ideas too!
but in that draft, there’s just a line that says “sealegs” because it works as a name and was funny to me. but it could also have some meaning — finding your sea legs, etc. I think sealegs (they/them) would be a cat who isn’t from the clans at all and either ended up in a clan late in life or somehow wandered into starclan or the dark forest and got tangled up in clan nonsense.
the duplex isn’t exclusive to clan cats — I’m deciding that bc the idea that only clan cats “get” to go to starclan icks me out. maybe sealegs is the first true outsider they meet, and that’s how they find other wings of the duplex! that way, aus can exist in the duplex alongside canon which I think is cool!
I also like the name suncloud. I have some v vague ideas about who she’d be. I’m just starting to dip my toes into the cat oc waters lol (I do have a lot of my own characters from screenwriting tho! just no fully-formed cats yet)
I also want to add some starclan cats to the duplex! I’m reading dawn of the clans for the first time rn, and I really like the idea of the original clan founders showing up there in the distant future because they’ve been “forgotten” because the individual clans dissolve.

Ch 2- Page 2!
I got caught out! 30 knot winds before I could hit either my intended destination or the two backup anchorages I had marked for myself. At some point, you have to bite the bullet & ride it out. You CANNOT enter a shallow area or skinny water like a Inlet or harbor while the seas are raging. You will have a bigger problem on your hands than if you just ride it out. The seas were as high as the spreaders & few stars to guide me, i could not get photos of that- I was much too busy! I had put the sails away long before the worst of it & used the motor to keep me in the wind. It didn’t much matter. Between the wind & current, I technically sailed 20 nautical miles & still ended up right outside of the mouth of the river I came outside of the day before. I made the mistake of thinking a light boat could beat a current. Never second guess #MotherNature. #Sailing #cold #atlanticocean waters is teaching me a lot. No, nobody does something like this on purpose. Especially in such a light #vessel. The #dinghy broke free by morning & the #jibsail was ripped before the storm even began, but when I opened it after the #storm to check it, it simply kept opening at her seams. The jib line went overboard sometime in the night & #propwrap, shutting off the #motor. A #westerbeke 21. At that point I was really in trouble. I had #tethered myself to the #captianswheel all night & had my #foulies on, no way was I getting any sleep. The dog didn’t sleep either, using all fours to keep herself up. Good #sealegs on #Luna! Though, I gotta say, I could swear, I see her shaking her head at me. I waited until I #sunlight & we got closer to shore & calmer weather to call for a tow. It was going to be hard enough. The spirit moves in mysterious ways. I landed here to meet an old friend. Things will be OK, though I will probably have to wait until next month to get moving. Need my next check to come through. I burned alotta fuel & the jib must be repaired (though it was the week I got this boat). The motor still has problems I don’t understand & have done many repairs to already. I’m getting a cold. Of Course I am. (at Georgetown, South Carolina)
