Here we have an interesting experiment project I had to do for school last year. I wanted to combine Japanese painting techniques with geography illustrations. Of course, colour had to be added. It proved to be more difficult than I thought to get the right painting technique down for the result I wanted. I like the idea of the painting but the execution leaves something to be desired. . Would love to do more 'fine arts'/'free illustrations' but I am so busy with workshops and making comics, there is barely any time left to really invest in things like this.

Scroll art seen on the smartphone becomes a new way of experiencing art. It is more convenient than actual physical scroll but it retains the temporal experience that a scroll provides. You can see the art only sections at a time. So, in an abstract way, it is sequential art because you experience it sequentially. This offers the artist an opportunity to create art that builds visual drama like a movie or a comic strip. The scroll art, like a story, can be broken down to a beginning, a middle and an end.
