Astarion X MC, Modern AU. No Mindflayers here just fluff and some slight angst vibes at the end. @scribesofcalamity ty for the prompt I ended up using it for my BG3 kiddo and Astarion months later haha ♥♥
It’s a night like any other, really. The only difference is that they’re in her bed instead of his.
The sheets are twisted about them as they cling to each other, gasps and sighs and moans the only sounds in the room as they finish, bodies pressed close and slicked with sweat.
Adalynn has lost count of the nights and days spent in bed like this - why should she keep track, when every encounter is just as intoxicating as the first? They’ve made no true promises to each other, but they are dating - and she is content with that, she tells herself, hands running idly down his back as he pulls gingerly from her body.
🖊🖊🖊 for Marta pls,I need more Marta content in my life 😍
@scribesofcalamity
Just for u 💖💖💖 more Marta~
• Marta is an absolute gem of a gentle person who's surprisingly well-spoken, given most people on sight assume she's mostly here to brawl. She plays defense in most fights, providing shields and boons and healing, rarely gaining a body count for herself. She adheres the the glory of battle and adventure as many Norn, but sees herself in a support position within these journeys.
• She does however have a small body count still, don't count her out of a fight just because she's willingly on the sidelines. Her name is on many legends of her own, and she's not young by human standards at all.
• She's a natural heater, usually running very hot by many peoples' standards. Great for her guild to cuddle up against on cold evenings! However, after her time as Jormag's champion she carries a permanent chill that leaves her much colder to the touch now. Her guild will still cuddle up to her, just with more blankets lol
❝ i never realized how much i needed you until you were the one person who wasn’t there."
For whatever pairing you'd like! 👀🥺

The Eye of the North was unusually quiet now, almost everyone celebrating the final victory elsewhere. The end of the dragon cycle. Oxalis took a few steps forward, stopping only at the edge of the crystal platform that reached halfway into the scrying pool. He stared into the swirling water, shoulders tense.
„I can feel how your soul aches, Champion. Are you sure that you want this?” Aurene asked with worry in her voice.
„Yes. I want to see him, one last time.” He took a step into the water, then another, letting the magic engulf him completely, giving in to the pull of the gentle tendrils as he closed his eyes. He could hear the sound of the rushing waterfalls from the other side become louder.
When he looked up, Oxalis found himself standing in a large cavern, rays of sunlight filtering through the lush overgrowth in the cracks of the ceiling. He recognized this place, from long ago, even if it did look slightly different on this side. It was the Source, now filled with life that grew around the ruins, mending them together once again.
There was a tall figure standing in the middle of the platform, looking up towards the sky. He looked worn and tired. Oxalis just stood there for a moment and held his breath, unsure of how to go about this – then, finally, his legs moved, as if his body knew what he needed to do.
Upon being approached, the man turned to face the other. He smiled gently.
„Trahearne…”
„You came.”
„I wanted to see you. To tell you…” Oxalis stopped, struggling to fight the tears that were stinging his eyes. „…To tell you that we won. The Dragon Cycle has ended. Tyria is safe now.”
The firstborn nodded. „We all felt it here in the Mists, too. Thank you for carrying it through, to the end. I have never doubted you… But I see that there is something else. What troubles you?”
„I’m scared. Scared to go on. I thought that I could carry on, no matter what, because that is my duty and my role. But when I stood there in the Jade Sea, after the final victory, I…” Oxalis trailed off. He felt the tears rolling down his face as he spoke, unable to hold them back anymore. „It’s been years since you died, and I still haven’t moved on. I couldn’t, no matter how hard I tried. I wanted you to stand there with me after every battle we won, and all I could think about was how I never realized how much I needed you until you were the one person who wasn’t there. It was your dream, too. How will I go on without you?”
Trahearne lifted his arms to draw the other into an embrace, running his fingers through his long locks comfortingly. „I wish I had been able to be there with you through it all. But you must let go, Oxalis. There is a new world awaiting for you.”
„A new world that might not need me anymore. A world without you in it.”
„You have a family, and they need you. They love you. And I love you, but I am gone. You must live your life.”
„I’m just...” The Commander muttered. „I’m sorry that we did not have more time together. I should have confessed my feelings much sooner.”
„There’s no use dwelling on it anymore. However short it was, I’m grateful for every moment that we had.”
„This is the last time that I see you, so… Please… let me hold you just for a little longer, before I go.” Oxalis already felt that his time in the Mists was about to come to an end soon, and the veil between Tyria and the Mists was slowly becoming thinner.
„Of course.”
They stood there silently for awhile in an embrace, until the magic started to falter and world began to fade away into brilliant, colorful lights. The Commander gently cupped the other’s face and leaned forward to kiss him softly. He felt Trahearne smiling into it. „Goodbye, Trahearne.” He whispered before finally letting go.
„Goodbye, beloved. I’m proud of you.”
