Meilu hadn't been in Sumeru for very long, known the Scribe even shorter amount of time, due to her desire for knowledge which was not for forbidden knowledge but history of the nations past. She and Alhaitham had tracked down a ruin that MIGHT help Meilu understand the history of the area without relying on the Akademiya.

"Careful Alhaitham... I can already see several traps and we've only just entered the ruins. Are you able to translate some of these symbols for me? I would like to know a little more about this place, if possible, before we go deeper... I will watch your back, as agreed."

The rustle of clothing could be heard as a slender frame stood about the large hall, thin digits sliding over the base of a spine of a particular book which carefully was pulled off the shelf. Taking a moment to let it fall open in her hands, long light blonde locks moved with her as she looked as if she might hum, but no, she was silent as the grave.

Moving a bit to her left, her back remains to the entrance of this Library itself. Eyes like a winter frost scan over the contents of the book, and a page flips in the quiet.

For the most part, this woman believes no one is in this place with her. Little does she know, she's quite wrong.

"I prefer unnecessary caution over unnecessary risks. Give it a try from time to time." In truth, Cyno knew those were strong words coming from himself. He'd need more than one hand to count the number of times he'd been on their receiving end, showing up in Gandharva Ville as regularly as he did with new injuries in need of treatment.

But he thought it wouldn't hurt to take a page from Tighnari's book and pass on that same lecture to Alhaitham. Strong and smart as he could be, he did not possess the endurance of a born desert-dweller who had lived and breathed the Great Red Sand every day of his life.

Without asking for permission, he reached over to unclasp and slip off the sleeve from Alhaitham's arm, letting it fall behind his shoulders. The entrance to the tomb in which he'd carried the scribe was in the shade, and the air flow breathing out from its depths was at least cooler than what waited outside the entrance. He needed his temperature to cool off as quickly as possible.

she   glanced   at   the   seat   next   to   him.   and   flipped   the   coin,   catching   it   with   a   swipe   of   her   hand   and   placing   it   on   the   top   of   her   hand.   heads.     ‟    thank   you.   i   won't   be   much   of   a   bother.    „     another   flip.   heads.   she   could   sit   down.   she   moved,   pulling   out   the   chair   and   sitting.   with   the   akademiya's   assignments,   it   was   an   expectation,   and   a   mandatory   one   at   that,   to   complete   them.   she   didn't   need   permission   for   that.   she   opened   her   book   and   began   to   read   for   the   upcoming   class.   she   knew   they   are   both   in   different   darshan,   yet   rarely   anyone   was   as   quiet   as   him.   wishing   to   ask   a   question,   she   flipped   the   coin.   tails.   suzume's   lashes   brushed   downward.   furrowing   her   brows,   she   flipped   again.   tails.   again.   tails.   one   more   time.   heads.

‟    your   name   isn't   kaveh,   correct?    „     she   didn't   make   eye   contact—her   eyes   were   trained   to   the   page   in   front   of   her.

"Your   presentation   was   so   enlightening,   Alhaitham"   words   followed   with   a   polite   smile   while   hands   clasped   behind   her   back. 

 "to   be   honest,   I   don't   know   much   about   Sumeruvian   culture   ....   is....   it   okay   to   ask   you   questions   sometime?   I'd   love   to   learn   more!"

RANDOM DIALOGUE PROMPTS

       ' Hm... Not quite. ' although a yes could be as well accurate, for the mere presence of the moon goddess brought all the life in the herbarium to flourish, each plant and little animals drinking from the pure essence of moonlight; it's as if they clamoured for the divine, growing and changing visibly by the simple fact of having her there. Vines overgrown, colors practically glowing under the glass roof bathed in lunar silver, everything moving alongside the damsel.

Something  between  a  hiss  and  a  growl  leaves  her  lips  ,  turning  her  head  away  in  frustration  Nefer  was  far  from  a  well  behaved  patient  ,  especially  so  when  she's  humbled  by  moments  that  remind  her  she  too  bleeds  the  same  as  everybody  else.  ❝  that's  easy  for  you  to  say  ❞ ,  how  careless  she'd  been  in  the  first  place  ,  an  ambush  from  all  sides  and  Nefer  had  found  herself  caught  up  in  the  middle.  Perhaps  the  return  to  Sumeru  was  weighing  on  her  more  than  she'd  let  herself  believe  ,  what  was  with  the  people  around  her  laying  the  future's  of  the  nations  upon  her  shoulders.  What  a  joke.

❝  this  is  nothing  ❞ she  groaned  ,  burnt  from  a  fatui  pyro  agent.  Archon's  she  never  thought  she'd  actually  find  herself  wishing  for  Lauma's  presence  ,  instead  she  was  stuck  here  weakened  ,  with  a  bunch  of  unfamiliars.  Her  body  trembled  slightly  from  the  shock  ,  the  depth  of  the  pain  still  not  fully  settling  in  ,  and  despite  being  in  the  desert  ,  Nefer  was  beginning  for  find  herself  feeling  a  chill. 

Stubourn  will  ,  or  perhaps  slight  fear  ,  Nefer  wouldn't  allow  herself  to  be  touched  by  another  ,  ❝  are  you  going  to  just  stare  at  me  ?  ❞ she  bit  ,  with  no  real  bite.
