Ava pauses midstride. Her face slowly flushes and she looks over her shoulder at him just a bit and she says. "... No. It wasn't... and honestly... if you are...? I would not recommend it." She turns to face him, fingers lightly interlacing in front of her as a soft, but sad smile appears. "... I'm not... a girl you take home to meet your family... or the person you..." She trails off. "... I'm flattered, but... I came to you for research..."

In her eyes; Teyvat has Laws. She exists outside them. To forcefully tether herself to someone within Teyvat's guidelines... it would cause a multiversal scandal and would backlash and might interrupt the timeline of things for Teyvat. As the Librarian... she cannot allow this fundamentally... and yet...

"... You... have no idea what you're asking me to do, or what you're asking yourself to do." Her eyes this entire time have met his. "... I apologize if I sound egotistical, or anything of the sort... but when you bring this to my table, I am one to assume." She smiles softly. "... You're a good man, Alhaitham. You didn't flinch when I brought you this research and... you have not asked questions... about certain things..."

Gender: Male

General appearance: Black hair, ironically has vitiligo like Tsubasa, sunkissed features, green eyes, wears a short, modern asymmetric poncho-haori draped over a skin-tight, high-collared black under-shirt that highlights vitiligo markings on his arms, left side of the jacket is a deep indigo-black featuring subtle fox motifs, while the right side transitions into a vibrant, pixelated emerald green patterned with neon graffiti lines that shape an abstract kitsune face on the back, waist is cinched by a wide white traditional obi sash secured with a heavy-duty, tactical black webbed belt, from which hangs a mix of sacred Inazuman omamori charms and colorful Natlan climbing ropes, wears charcoal-grey cargo trousers are neatly tucked into high-top black combat boots featuring neon green soles and crimson laces, wears asymmetric fingerless gloves -- a fabric wrap on the left and a leather hunting bracer on the right—and a miniature kitsune mask worn around his neck like a collar, split diagonally between a classic white-and-crimson fox design and pixelated saurian teeth.

Personality: Easygoing but practical by nature. Influence of both. Honestly might be the most grounded between his fathers.

Special talents: Weaving. He's good with his hands. Finds comfort in them. Uses a Sword.

Potential Powers: Dendro Vision. Taps into specifically the power of leaves to create step paddles he can walk across the sky in.

Who they like better: Kinich. His solace. Tsubasa can be a lot to handle.

Who they take after more: Ironically? Both.

Personal headcanon: Sleeps curled up in Tsubasa's tail. Has his own Saurian partner he is often seen with.

Short Bio: Adopted by Tsubasa on a trip back to Inazuma after finding him as an orphan, Tsubasa more or less appears as a fox to Kinich with this boy in his jaws and sets him down as 'Look what I brought home. Are you proud? You wanted one right?' Ren has been with them ever since. Ren adapts well to Natlan life and to the next generation of this particular Nation, he serves as the grounded stability they need.

"... Someone I love being hurt." He thinks of Sora. "... If Kazu-nii hadn't stopped me? I would've killed the Red Prince myself. He's lucky I was already down."

What kind of weather matches their soul?

Honestly probably late Spring/early Summer. He's kind of a mix of both. He's got the whimsy of Spring but the intensity of Summer.

Do they sleep peacefully / fight nightmares every night?

The Toad Chief nods along as she explains her past, but shrugs as she explains the dynamics of her pack. “Can’t say I understand the dynamics of a pack. Toads don’t work that way, but my heart goes out for you. Truly. Granted there are wolves here in Japan, but they’re wary of folks from overseas.” The Jorōgumo quickly spins some new clothes for Lily, and she throws in her two cents. “Here in Japan, yokai look out for each other. Especially nowadays, since humans are so fearful of everything. As long as you stay here, you’re one of us. We’re in your corner if you ever need anything.” Gamabunta blows smoke from his pipe again. “Yup. Babylon is-was the greatest city in its time. The ruins are somewhere in the far west. But as for Ginrai, this temple has some scrolls with some of his story in the library. But that can wait after you get yourself cleaned up.” He pauses to think about something. “There’s also the world beneath, but that’s way too dangerous for you. The Land of the Titans, some call it. Hasn’t been the same since the Titan War.”

She is appreciative of his kindness. "Thank you." She listens and her head tilts to one side. "Then... because I have nowhere to go, I would like to stay forever long I'm able too. The lonely Fox God is my benefactor. I do not want to overstep his boundaries." She announces softly. "Babylon..." The name falls off her tongue oddly.

Such a nice name, Avalon, with an equally nice meaning behind it. It somewhat made it fitting that she was the one in charge of the Library. The bit about people falling to their knees at hearing the name seemed a bit much to him though... But he knew all things were possible, so maybe those people were from a rather religious world. "You certainly have a storied name, along with your family. Certainly better than mine just being something I came up with to sound more like a wizard." He would give an old man chuckle at his own joke. He could probably make up some background for his name, but he was an honest fox. "I understand you are resigned to that fate, but that does not mean you cannot still find hope in the new methods. You will simply be less disappointed if it does not work. . And maybe, the joy if it does work can be even greater. I am uncertain, I haven't studied psychology all that much." 'All that much' was probably a horrible understatement since his 'Average' study of something was typically college level.

In a place like Camelot? Oh you bet it was possible. But... only there, truly. If only because of the connection between her name and Arthur's resting place... and a certain magus who sat in his tower now holding a dying star with only her voice -- Ava's -- as a comfort.

'Don't say that.' Her voice is gentle. 'I think your name is quite unique, dear fox wizard. I am glad to know it.' She is wistful as she sighs softly. 'I have exhausted every avenue at present. I am always open to new takes on things in regards to my search, but... I tend to find burnout some times, such as recently. I just... find myself sinking into my work instead.'

The old fox would listen quietly as Gula poured out his past for him. It was.. Unique. He hadn't met anyone much like him, and the time alone somewhat made him remember his solace here and there over his many years. . Maybe, once he was done with that 'True Scrying' spell that he was working on for a certain librarian, he could use it to help find Gula's Ava. He very much doubted they were the same Ava he knew. "...The part about the war and disappearing from history.. I will look into that on my own, as not to put you through any memories. But, I believe that if something caused history of such potential magnitude as an entire war to be forgotten, then it likely had some lingering effect that caused my memory fog. It might have potentially effected the others you have met along the way as well." With that out of the way.. He started to focus on this 'Master' guy. Why build them up just to destroy their unity? To start a war? To ruin a family? .. He didn't have any answer for that right now. He might find it in his searches later. For now, maybe he could try connecting a bit more with Gula. He at least knew about losing a found family. "..When I was younger, and had just started learning magic, the professor I was learning from got into a lot of gambling debt. He had wagered on fights in an arena through some middle man. To pay them off, he had me kidnapped and sold to that arena, since who was going to miss a fox? I got placed with a group of others in that place.. Most of them didn't survive the next few years." Since he had used a Flying spell to make being on Gula's shoulder easier, Kabartmak would 'walk' on the air a bit off to the side, so he could be about eye level with Gula. He was actually rather adept at making it look like he was walking and standing on the air, since wizards couldn't cast Air Walk. "My group did eventually stabilize. Myself, a cat that was a White Necromancer, a kitsune Bard, a catfolk Paladin, and another kitsune who was a Brawler. Oddly enough, the Brawler wasn't there against his will. He was an adventurer looking to get stronger so he could go back and defend his home.. But that's another story for another time." All of their stories were long and rather time consuming to explain, but he would have to get their permission to tell those stories. "My group did eventually buy out our own freedom though. The two felines completely leveled the Arena not long after that. . We continued on as adventurers for a bit, and eventually went our separate ways... Right after we stopped a crisis and I got tossed backwards in time.. It was a bit comical, I walked over from a place I was watching from like nothing happened, having taken the long way back. I'm five hundred years old and was technically born about twenty years ago." Of course, another Arena popped up in some other place, but those kinds of things are like ants. You'll never get rid of all of them. "All of that is to say.. I can understand how it feels to watch people you care about either be driven away or taken from you. . And it really does seem like your 'master' took that family from you with his scheme. . I could probably have made that shorter, but I am old and prefer details."

Gula is grateful for the fox's wisdom, but he reassures him; "I am fine to help you find the answers you seek. I, too, am curious as to why certain magicks work differently... and why you don't remember a lot of it." He pauses. "The best answer I can give is that perhaps the frequencies in our respective world's magicks don't mix fundamentally... or... perhaps it's simply there is some kind of..." He pauses. "... not a counter curse, but more or less that."

He grows quiet for his tale. To think the fox had gone through something similar...

To say he was relieved someone understood was an underestatement. He's even more glad it's his little fox friend. His insight is... He seems wistful as he responds; "... In my wanderings... I've realized that yes, you are correct on that. The only one in the end who I could trust in the end was Ava. She..." He closes his eyes as he continues onward. "... she helped me when she didn't have too... and now she's gone."

He thinks over his 'siblings' and yes, he was close with all of them... some more then others, but Ava... Ava was always a place of comfort. They were about the same age and because of that, they were easily able to get along. Plus, her more playful nature countered his more snarky one all too well.

BAM He hits the wall with a thud, with the painting of his grandparents wobbling as they continue to wrestle. Shoving his sister off of himself he accidentally tears a small hole into one of the doors, but ignores it in favor of his pride. With a snarl, he lunges at her and tackles her into the living room, narrowly avoiding the coffee table….And their dad’s annoyed stare. ….Ginrai just raises the volume up, trying to ignore his children. “Have children, dad said. It’ll be rewarding, dad said.”

More snarling as they nearly knock over the television. Miwa snarls back and meets him, her back legs coming to meet his gut and shove him back over her into the next wall. Getting up, she lunges for him again.

Regardless of whether or not the library shaking was intentional, things begin to really amp up as a rift begins to form not too far away from the desk. What emerges is an otherworldly Kitsune, a God that pushes through into the library as if he was shoving himself through some spiderwebs. Shaking his fur as he closes the rift behind him, the fox looks around with an impressed gleam in his eye. "Ah, my father wasn't wrong. Such a place does exist." Taking notice of the man behind the desk, he approaches with a casual flick of his ear. "Greetings, friend. I take it you are the curator of this realm?"

The Library settles into the silence once more, the Magus is by far unfazed. He simply smiles and he says, "Greetings to you. A God tearing through time and space like it was nothing but paper... A flashy entrance indeed, my good man." He leans a bit on his staff, "You've certainly brightened up my afternoon."

For a moment, the look in his eyes is focused. Using his Clairvoyance, he peers into who this 'father' is. A small breathless grin escapes him once he sees Nergal. Oh, now that was interesting.

Blinking and focusing in on Ginrai once more, he shifts his stance. "I'm afraid not on that regard. I'm but a retired Magus, and current part-time Librarian." He directs the fox's attention to the Library beyond. "The one you would need to speak too is currently occupied, but she has no doubt learned you're here." He turns and approaches an old chair and takes a seat. He leans forward, resting himself a bit against his staff.
