Reposted from @cellularblueprints (@get_regrann) - Here you see two hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes stained for the sarcomeric protein alpha-actinin 2 (green) and the cytoskeletal protein actin (red) forming microfilaments. These cells were genome edited with the CRISPR/Cas9 technology. In this process one gene, which is carrying a mutation that causes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, was successfully repaired in vitro. This technology enables scientists to generate isogenic controls, which have the same genetic background as the patient-derived diseased cells and are therefore extremely useful for disease modeling of inherited diseases. . . . . #hipsc #biology #science #biologist #microscopy #medicine #humaninducedpluripotentstemcellderivedcardiomyocytes #humaninducedpluripotentstemcells #cellculture #carlzeiss #natural #biologos #scientificimage #chemistry #human #interesting #immunofluorescence #heartcell #biological #thermofisherscientific #thermofisher #crispr #CRISPR/Cas9 #genomeediting - #regrann (en Urb Los Ficus - Santa Anita) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5ZQiV_llTK/?igshid=1gsuvn7i9tw5o
