hiiiiii!!!! Could you, please, write fluff with Wooin ????
HEADCANON «BELONGING TO SOMETHING» !
NOTE: I'm sorry, dude, I fell out of life, but I kind of did something for him
Wooin has never given anyone any gifts in his life.
At first, his whole point was to prove to his father that he was the best. He thought he would be proud of him. just like any child who wants his parent's attention.
He trained hard, and his palms were covered in calluses, but Wooin never complained. He liked pushing himself to the limit.
therefore, he had never in his life held colored pencils in his hands to draw his father something like a family portrait, where they both hold hands, barely look like people, against the background of squares like a house and under the yellow sun.
but then this damn accident happened and everything changed.
His father's pride in him had disappeared, and the occasional dinner was accompanied by conversations about Wooin's successes.. It all just disappeared.
then he tried to be the best in his studies. It seemed easy. math, Korean, knowledge of history, he became the best in school
But for his father? Still not
therefore, at some point Wooin stopped looking for recognition.
He began to breathe freely. dropped out of college, went shopping as if to his home, choosing all the brightest and most noticeable, rode a bike like crazy, not because Wooin wanted to be the best
he wanted to feel that very sense of belonging to something he couldn't name himself. could it be close to madness? maybe
And then you showed up.
another. you followed the rules, rarely skipped classes at college, smiled at others at work to appear polite, worked hard, supported your friends.
and you two got together somehow.
Wooin still wasn't sure if he really loved you.
Or no, not like that, did he love anyone at all? Did he belong to the type of people who are capable of loving selflessly?
It's hard to remember, his entire childhood was spent chasing success, his teenage years chasing proof that he was still strong.
But there you two were.
those late-night car rides around the city, dumb laughter and vulgar humor, kisses goodbye, damn Wooin even held back swearing when he taught you how to ride a bike because he was having fun
and here is your first holiday together, what Wooin learned from you, by the way, your first six months of relationship exactly on Valentine's day.
You gave him a heart-shaped piece of paper, an album with shared photos, and a keychain for his car because it reminded you of him.
Wooin didn't know what to do. He didn't give gifts, but he also hadn't received any before. Previously, he considered recognition, recognition, and fame to be gifts. He didn't even say thank you, and while you were laughing, when he was confused, he looked at you.. As if he had never seen you before
and something inside him warmed up, became warmer, more intense, and his heart prickled, but it didn't hurt. It was there, as if Wooin was there at the right time, in the right place, like a piece of a puzzle perfect for you.
It seemed to be similar to those feelings when his father told him that he was doing well or that he was proud of him. but it was still something else. Something he wanted to burn harder for
And the next day was his birthday.
You gave him new gloves so he could ride a bike, because Wooin's gloves were already worn out and got damn bad.
For some reason, he wanted to put them on and wear them without taking them off at all.
and then you started doing it more often. send these cute posts talking about you, do all these little crafts just for him, put lollipops with notes wishing him a good day or a race.
these earrings are for him, a ring made of beads, new glasses and colorful caps.
He probably realized at some point that he wanted to give something back.
but the question became what exactly
Is it too expensive? You won't accept, and you'll even scold him.
To put it into words? It's not about him at all
but in a different way? Wooin couldn't
The idea came by accident, suddenly, when he was fiddling with the phone in his hands, and remembered about the card that you drew especially for him.
for the first time in 20 damn years, Wooin Yoo bought colorful markers and paper
It took a whole night for him to really figure out something worthwhile for you. It's just a picture, in the form of a tarot card from a love series, about what you bought at the store for a joke for a sleepover with girls.
it turned out to be devilishly crooked, the line was uneven, the colors of the markers went beyond the lines, and Wooin even collected the pellets on paper while diligently rubbing the colors
The night you two met, Wooin was uncharacteristically quiet. he constantly looked away from you when you noticed, rubbed the palms of his hands on his pants from sweat, touched his cap too often. Oh shit, he probably hasn't been this excited since he competed with Vinny to take him in, or even since he took first place in the competition for the first time.
He walked around you for hours, like a damn pheasant walking around a female, attracting attention, but Wooin still couldn't decide to give it to you.
it all happened somehow abruptly and randomly. he walked you home, abruptly grabbed your hand, put a "gift" in your hand, mumbled something about "throw it away or burn it" and just ran away as if from a crime scene, getting on his bike and running away.
Wooin was driving like crazy through the crowd, his heart was beating like crazy, he was afraid to look at his phone
And when did he check your chat? There's only your photo, in the mirror, and under the transparent phone case, what he did for you.
and it seems at that moment, Wooin felt like he belonged to something. To you. Fully fledged. and he shouldn't have deserved your love.
And for the first time in months, words of love came from both sides.
And it was so damn right

Art reflection
I've been meaning to write this for, like, over a month. I wanted to put all my thoughts together after finishing my first real series since I started teaching myself art back in June for the first time since middle school.
For this series, I did the five main characters from the interactive fiction @pressplay-if:
Annie (link) was the first one I drew. I was working off of the idea of her dissassociation and lack of affect by bringing in closed eyes and a dreamy aura slowly subsuming her figure. She came out looking a bit mystical to me, which made me happy, although I'm not sure the overall vibe ends up fitting the other characters as closely as I would have liked. She ended up being my favorite.
Stevie (link) was next. She's lightly based on a portrait of Cher I really love. I wanted the light to make her look a bit like she had a halo, a bit like she was a flower herself. She's got a flower for each member of the band, including Maddox and Fatima. My favorite part ended up being her little charm bracelet with a record and a moon.
Angel (link) was inspired by one of my all-time favorite album covers (PJ Harvey's Rid of Me). I was most excited about his hair, getting a lot of air into it. For him, I wanted the light to look like a spotlight. Very black and white, no gradient. I think probably he should have had a wilder expression - I might do a redraw some time after I've gotten better, see if I can bring some more mid-motion in.
Zima (link) was the hardest one for me, maybe because there's so much emphasis on their appearance in the story. They ended up with a lot of shards of light and dark almost distorting their appearance, like the background was breaking through their face, which led to me sharpening up each corner and line in their hair/face. In the end, I thought they ended up almost looking like a sticker cut-out in a zine or industry mag. I don't love the kisses but I do love that they look like jelly a bit. Zima was also the only one who ended up with no celestial details, which I think means I didn't quite get them right.
Lincoln (link) came along quickly because I had a clear idea of what I wanted. I tried to keep Lincoln's lines very rounded, a bit softer, younger, with almost no detail in their face because they're more of a mystery, except for the literal stars in their eyes. I wanted the light to imitate the snake, look a little hypnotic. Snake was my favorite part. I think I'll draw more snakes. :) Also, I hate snakes. :)))
Overall, I had a lot of fun doing these. I got a lot of joy out of thinking about how to keep consistent threads between the pictures (some kind of focus with light, celestial elements, only one pop of color), and practicing rendering different features.
More broadly, it was real fun to work with charcoal and pencil (digitally), I really enjoy that medium and want to improve. I have a shaky hand because of brain medication so am working on how to integrate that into the art I make in a way that makes me happy... so far, I don't think I can get lines as clean as some people can, so charcoal and pencil allow me to focus on mood instead. We'll see what's next!

Invisible String Theory(Slytherin boy(which one? I know! but you dont!) x reader)
Y/N, Dearest, My Love,
Maybe it was fate that brought us together. Youād agree, wouldnāt you? How unlikely was it for you to be in the same picture so many years ago. My last picture with her, and there you are, smiling so prettily in the background. We were eleven in the picture, but I didnāt notice until I was nearly fourteen. I think the muggles have a word for that, yāknow? Invisible String Theory.
Fourteen is such a young age to have a crush, āpuppy loveā, my tutor had called it the summer I came home. My studies never end, you see, my father insists an idle brain is good as brain-dead, but that never made sense to me. Nevertheless, I told my tutor all about you, and she seemed to be excited to meet you one day. Iāll bring you to my summer home. You like the beach, right?
I wasnāt the looker in fourth year that I am now. I was tall but too skinny, not enough muscle on my bones to make me desirable yet. Iām sure you hadnāt even noticed me before(And to be honest, I hadnāt realized the most beautiful face I had ever seen went to my school either), but you found my lost book, and that was the day I realized I had seen you before. That picture, the picture with her, was always my favorite. Yet, when I realized it was your beautiful, beaming face photobombing my portrait accidentally, I fell hard.
I noticed how I saw you everywhere, our classes nearly perfectly lining up. Youāre just a good person, love. Spreading so much love, and light, and kindness wherever you go.Ā
I should introduce myself, but where's the fun in that? Youāve always liked a good puzzle, ever my smart girl. Besides, I've done some things I'm not quite proud of, and it might make you a bit apprehensive. Nothing terrible, of course! Iām not a monster, my love, but I was lonely. Please donāt be jealous, or do, I canāt tell which I find to be more attractive.Ā
Regardless, I canāt imagine you donāt feel the same way. Weāre soulmates after all, and Iāll do everything in my power to prove that to you.
Look forward to my next letter, love.Ā
-Yours, truely.
P.s. You looked absolutely ravishing today. Wear your hair like that more often for me.Ā
Movies For Pride
This year, to celebrate pride, I wanted to get more into queer movies. I tried to watch at least two movies each week. That didn't end up happening exactly, but I want to continue this for the rest of summer. These are the ones I got to so far this month.
1. Rocky Horror Picture Show
Absolutely chaos in the best way possible. I was having fun the entire time. The music has been stuck in my head since I first watched it. Completely understand why this is such a cult classic. Tim Curry, you will always be famous. I need to go to a midnight showing one day.
2. The Birdcage
The son pissed me off so much. You have such loving parents, and you're going to let someone else's potential judgment get in between your family? Electric chair! Robin Williams and Nathan Lane are absolute gold. I quote Nathan's "I was young once" monologue from the beginning of the movie all the time now. I wish their characters were more affectionate towards each other, but I understand that it was the 90's and Nathan was still in the closet. I'm so sad I didn't hear about this movie sooner.
3. Paris is Burning
Beautiful, heartbreaking, funny, everything. My local museum did a showing of this for pride, and I'm so glad the first time I saw this was on a big screen. I avoided this documentary for so long because I knew it was going to make me cry, and it did, but I still adored it. I want to be black and queer in every lifetime.
4. Girls Like Girls
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this movie. I thought it was cute when I saw it, but felt like the dialogue was kinda lacking. You can tell it was originally a music video because it felt like a lot of important character and chemistry building between the two leads was just montages. So I left theater like, it's cute might watch again as a movie to have in the background. But then I learned a few things about Hayley Kiyoko, and yeah, I won't be watching or listening again.
5. Moonlight
āØļø A masterpiece āØļø I saw this the same day I saw girls like girls since my theater showed them back to back. It was a very fun little gay day. This is another that I avoided for a while because I knew it was gonna hurt my feelings. 100% crushed me emotionally, but it was so beautiful. It's been over a week since I've seen it, and sometimes I still just sit and think about it. The scene where his mom apologized to him towards the end destroyed me. Chiron is twice my size, but I just wanted to hold him in that moment.
6. Leviticus
These two are my babies. This is romance, people! I don't want the monster to look like some other dickhead, I want it to look like you. And what if I walked into traffic right now? This was horrifying, and little too close to home as a girlie who grew up in Catholic school, heartbreaking, and so so romantic what the fuck. I was supposed to pick another movie to watch yesterday, and I just watched this again.
7. Portrait of A Lady On Fire
I watched this earlier today, so I haven't fully sat with my thoughts yet, but another masterpiece. The yearning made my heart ache and made me feel incredibly single. I cried when she saw the painting of her and her daughter in the museum. The corner of the page at 28. I feel like staring at a wall and just thinking about it.
That's everything I've watched this month. Again, I'm going to continue to watch as many queer films as I can this summer, so if you have any recommendations or know of any that are coming out soon, please let me know. How did you celebrate pride this year?
Art evolution tag game
I loved drawing since I was a kid, but I dont have anything from before 2023 to share unfortunately :/ Moving to the US I left a lot of my childhood stuff in Korea, and studies/career took priority since. I took some art electives in school and doodled for fun sometimes, but I had to move every year and ended up throwing away a lot of my arts (ngl pretty bummed about it).Ā
Apr 2023: pencil + sketchpad
Then in 2023 I started having a quarter life crisis and asking myself questions like āwhat if I explore other hobbies again?ā Digital illustration was always in my bucket list. I decided to get back into pencil-sketching first and ease into it. I watched a lot of videos to learn basic stuff like the loomis method and breaking anatomy into simple shapes. I also started following more artists on ig for inspo.
