any wasp in the genus baeus ?
Amazing choice!
Have you seen a member of the Genus Baeus?
I have now
Yes, in photos/videos
Yes, irl
I'm not sure
Both photos here are of females, there are no observations of males on iNaturalist yet. Males are winged and not quite as compact, looking more like other members of their family. Members of this genus are parasitoids of spider eggs.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter from myself, and this Pentatomid egg lover, also known as Trissolcus japonicus!

No proper bug walks the past 2 days ( -2 mental health damage), but at least if there's a bit of daylight I have a chance at finding a Baeus wasp in my yard. +3 mental health boost. 🤎

#3554 - Fam. Scelionidae, Subf. Teleasinae
Previously considered a subfamily of the Platygastridae, now a subfamily of the Scelionidae, which was ALSO considered a subfamily of the Platygastridae.
The Scelionidae has over 3000 known species and some 176 genera - usually small, black, and parasitoids of insect and spider eggs. Some are wingless, and a handful target aquatic insect eggs. A few are useful biological controls, but may target native, non-pest species once their primary host starts becoming scarce.
