Did you know that the Long-Haired June Beetle (Polyphylla crinita) can be found on the west coast of much of North and Central America? This species is often confused for the very similar p. decemlineata. The most notable difference between the two species is that p. crinita has hair on its back instead of scales. It's very hard to differentiate the two without getting reallllllllll up close and in their space.

Did you know that Sternocera Aequisignata is a beetle found in much of southern Asia? Their elytra are often used in their native range as materials for jewelry making, while the rest of the beetle is used as food. You gotta be quick when looking for them as the adults only live about 3 weeks (though their total lifespan can reach up to two years).

Did you know that the Neptune Beetle (Dynastes neptunus) is a large black beetle native to northwestern South America? It's very similar to the closely related hercules beetle, but is distinguished by the slender horns and all black elytrae. Like many other large beetles, the larvae will eat decaying wood and the adults will eat fruits.
