okay so i might post more of these in the future because ive had a random motivation boost in my writing progress for upshift

the trophy of atychiphobia is the highest award bestowed upon the team/duo who have accumulated the most points at the end of a disclaimer league season

the Disclaimer League is a highly illegal street racing league, think of F1 but with illegal street racing and supercars instead of the open wheel racecars on racetracks and instead of Max Verstappen you got some random dumbass called Nitrous von Superfast or something

atychiphobia is the fear of failure; canonically, the trophy was given this name because it was awarded to those who feared failure and avoided it; from my writer's standpoint, it was named after the MVP theme of subspace from the roblox game phighting (many things in upshift are named after songs so thats cool)

Time

all of reality itself follows a single present; not one has invented time travel. each universe may have a year (like for example, 2026 in ours), but they only measure the age of said universe, or at least its Primary Intelligent Life-Inhabited Planet (PILIP). so to establish an "omniversal" way to measure time, CROSS, the Cross-Reality Order of Sentinels and Scientists, and they oversee the safety of every universe they've ever found, aka the people who find the answers to the questions that existence itself asks, established a year system, BR (Before Revelation) and AR (After Revelation), to clear up confusion between events that happened across universes, by using the day that the multiverse was discovered as reference. for example, The Day That Changed Their History took place on the year 2037 in Jertindliuss-Phobia and 2008 in the universe now retroactively designated Jertindliuss-Deafwind, because multiversal travel was used in order for brothers Torque and Daniel de Mobilauto (from Phobia) to steal the Mazda Furai (from Deafwind) and get it back to their home in Phobia; despite it being 2037 and 2008 on Phobia and Deafwind respectively, it all happenend on 55 AR, 55 years after it was found out there were more universes than one

Universe

anyways uhh. the cosmology of Upshift divides space into four segments. Universe, Multiverse, Polymultiverse, and Omniverse

Universe refers to a single part of reality that operates under its own history, its own rules, consistencies with its own rules, etc. they're also named based on their defining traits or histories and stuff. no idea how to explain it further. for example, we have Jertindliuss-Phobia, named after its distinct car-based definition and the Phobia Crisis that almost ended its Earth

Multiverse/Universe Family

then you got Multiverse, or more formally, Universe Family, which categorizes single universes according to constants, similarities, and whatnot. for example, the extensive Jertindliuss family of universes, named after the late car-enthusiastic cosmologist Karloff Jertindliuss who was one of several to find out there are other universes beyond one, are characterized by the abnormally emphasized connection to automobiles to the most intelligent species of a universe's PILIP; for example, in Jertindliuss-Phobia, cars are pretty much the only interesting industrial product in the entire universe, due to cars there being heavily cheapened due to the space object mining prominent during the Space Rush that lowered the rarity of various industrial components used in the construction of cars; essentially, a Jertindliuss reality is characterized by the mention of car in their overall description/summary being the most noticeable part, because dang, if the people on that universe like cars so much, then you REALLY gotta categorize them as a Jertindliuss universe

Polymultiverse

a Polymultiverse refers to every universe that operate under a single amount of dimensions; as of 56 AR, only universes between 1 through 4 dimensions have been discovered. examples include the 2DPM (2-Dimensional Polymultiverse), which include all discovered universes that operate under only length and height. and then the 4DPM (im sure its long form can be guessed) operates with length, width, height, and a fourth dimension that i dont know how to describe because ive never written it yet
