1st Stage: Adult, 16-18 yo. This is what Dawn looks like at the start of the story. Her accent feathers have just started growing in. Accent feathers signal that a dragon is an adult.
2nd Stage: Dragonet, 6-8yo. At that age, dragonets are proficent in gliding, and can fly for short distances. They are not very agile in the air. They have fluffy feathers to keep themselves warm.
3rd Stage: Hatchling, 1-30 days old. Newly hatched dragons are completely featherless, and reliant on their parents for food and warmth.
And also Verity is there for size comparison.
