We did our part in the U.S. Senate, now it’s the States and House of Representatives turn.
We Got This!!!
The federal appellate decision on #NetNeutrality just came out. Sadly, it mostly upholds the FCC repeal of net neutrality *but* also rules the FCC CAN’T PREEMPT STATE NET NEUTRALITY LAWS. I authored #SB822 to protect net neutrality in CA. SB 822 remains intact & isn’t preempted. (at San Francisco, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3FKxhBB8CO/?igshid=zo19dq8oylwk
Today, our #NetNeutrality bill, #SB822, becomes the law of the land in California. While we can’t enforce it yet, due to pending litigation by Trump and the telecom/cable industries, the law is now in place. A big thanks to everyone who fought so hard to help us take this historic step to protect an open internet. https://www.instagram.com/scott_wiener/p/BsGZm6Vhm0s/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=yum5nfb08b5f
Congrats to California for passing the Net Neutrality SB 822 bill. I made this Biggie Net Neutrality shirt early this year, one of the first I made. I thought it was BRILLIANT!!! lol...but didn't quite take off. Maybe too specific...but perfect time now. California has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to the law. I lived in Sacramento a few years and sae first hand how politically aware everyone is. They usually set the precedent for other states to follow. Nice work @scott_wiener #NetNeutrality #SB822 #California #GoingBackToCali #Biggie #BiggieSmalls #NotoriousBIG #CoogiSweater #DopeTees #Internet #buffering #WIFI #HipHop #Etsyshop https://www.instagram.com/p/BodOKTDhrD6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=192v0fr7tkabe

California Governor Jerry Brown on Sunday signed into law SB 822 that adopts a state-level net neutrality requirement for broadband…
Congressman Rick Boucher, IIA Honorary Chair: "Concerned public officials in California and other states that have debated state-level network neutrality guarantees could make constructive contributions by working with their bipartisan congressional delegations to advance federal legislation that settles the long-running net neutrality debate once and for all."
I ran into my Congresswoman, the great Nancy Pelosi. Leader Pelosi has gone to the mat - & continues to do so - to help us pass our #NetNeutrality bill, #SB822. She is a force of nature & has all the right values. I can’t wait to see her take the gavel again as Speaker. California's net neutrality bill is a step closer to becoming law
California’s net neutrality bill is a step closer to becoming law
Now that the FCC has undone net neutrality protections implemented under the Obama Administration, one response has been to implement tight regulation at the state level. Tonight in California’s State Assembly lawmakers passed SB 822 by a vote of 61 – 18, sending it back to the state Senate complete with amendments to bolster some of the protectionsthat keep internet providers from…
