“Not helpful, not helpful at all.” Skye muttered to herself, while lacing up her yellow Timberland boots. “ You'll clear your head, they said, your writers block will go away.” She puffed once more, standing up and clearing her hair off her face.
“Skye!” Carolina grumbled, lengthening the e and leaning herself against the railing of the ice skating rink she was on.
“ Don't you even get started on me, Carol.” The annoyed blue eyed one retorted. “I already have to go to the bar, anyway.”
“Getting drunk this early?” A voice reached the pair, coming from one of the benches behind the one Skye had sat to put on her boots.
“And who are you to say so?” Carolina answered right away, making Skye roll her eyes.
“Gosh, the little devil has some sort of automatic flirty mode.” She thought moodily.
“Oh how pleasant, a snooper with no last name.” There was another eye rolling by Skye, who went unnoticed by the guy comfortably sprawled across the bench, but not by Carolina, who shot one of her intense stern glares towards her friend.
“I’m Carol, and the pretty lady nearer to you is my dear, Skye.” He raised his eyebrows at the closest one, it was a very charming antic, in Carolina’s opinion, but Skye was still too annoyed to think the same. “She’s not a drunk though, she just works at a bar.”
“Well that’s interesting, I thought she was just a loony writer.”
“You were muttering to herself about writers block and all.”
“Excuse her, Skye is in a foul mood today.”
“Carol!” The yellow boots hissed between her teeth.
“It’s allright, is it a good one, your bar? I was in a need of one for tonight.”
“Oh well, I suppose that you are the drunk, then?”
“Nah, when you drink on your own you’re a drunk. And that’s not my case, love.” He blinked, making Carol laugh, but Skye just rolled her eyes again.
“ I'm off.” She buried her hands in her pockets, walking away fast enough for Carolina not be able to run after her.
“Skye! Skye Sawyer get back here!” Carolina skated alongside Skye, until the rink was over. “Don't leave me!” She leaned herself against the railing once more, crying out dramatically.
“She’s a feisty one, ain't she?” The guy screamed to Carol across the rink, with a sly smile, watching Skye walk away with no shame.
“And you are an eavesdropper.”And she had screamed right back dragging everyone’s attention to them.
“What’s going on?” A girl with long brown wavy hair and big green eyes skated next to Carol, tilting her head to the bummed brunnette.
“That guy over there just scared my friend away.” Carolina gestured her head to Jay, whatever his name was,no longer thinking he was all that pleasant.
The girl next to Carol instantly went into a fit of giggles, holding herself to the stranger to not collapse into the ice.
“What’s so funny?” Even feeling confused the curly one couldn't help but at least smile along.
“Sorry!” The girl breathed. “That idiot over there is my brother, and to scare a girl away is just like him.”
“I’m Eleanor by the way.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Carolina.”
“Do you think your friend liked my brother?”
“Skye? Well, I don’t know, I can never tell when she hates someone or not when she’s as foul as she was today, why?”
“‘Cos if my brother scared her away he was probably totally into her.”
“Funny way of demonstrating.”
“He’s hopeless.” Eleanor giggled once more, and there was something about her that Carolina wasn't so sure of, but she just felt like skating after her when she trailed away was a good idea.
“Getting bored already?” - Eleanor
“Yes, but you still have fifteen minutes to go, I take my promises seriously.”
